Re: Around Waynos house

I suppose you are right, if I connected a 60 series to them they might go fast, I do have one dogleg also, but the MG guys want the 60 series/type. I have always had other plans for them 5 speeds, I have a J15 in the back that I was thinking about making an adapter plate to mate one to that engine, ...

Re: Around Waynos house

Gasket for the water pump is on the way. All I did today was make this A14 engine movable with the battery, gas can, radiator legs on the stand itself, I can roll it around without screwing anything up or roll it outside to make room in the garage. https://i.postimg.cc/HszhM8rN/003.jpg https://i.pos...

Re: Around Waynos house

They said they were going to have to special order a water pump gasket at Baxters, and it would be over 2 weeks, this I do not understand.

Re: Around Waynos house

So I made a radiator setup for this, it is 2 wood legs with the radiator screwed to them, the hoses hold it from moving away or towards the engine, the top hose is stock, but I had to make the bottom one. https://i.postimg.cc/28S9f7TS/005.jpg I put an electric fan on it also. https://i.postimg.cc/Kv...

Re: Jacob's goon build

Well now I need to pull my 521 diesel engine intake/exhaust/turbo apart and move the EGT probe to the proper spot, it was a pain to get in there, and it runs so good I have not wanted to change anything.

Re: Around Waynos house

So I mounted the water pump this afternoon, but still no radiator, it's kinda hard to mount one when the engine is on an engine stand. After I did another job and got home I started it again, it runs like crap and when it goes below 2000rpms it dies, so I took the complete intake off of it and mount...

Re: Jacob's goon build

I did have issues with high EGTs a couple years ago, but I finally figured it out, too much fuel. I just read a little about it, I guess the intake valves get cooled by the wet charge(Cooled by fuel) that the diesel injection into the cylinders don't have, but that said what I read tells me you shou...

Re: Jacob's goon build

I put my boost gauge fitting farther down the line near the intake manifold, but mine is a diesel. I also control my waste gate with a valve, I put a tee in the line between the compressor and the waste gate and pipe it into the cab to a valve, if I want more boost I open the valve a little and rele...

Re: Around Waynos house

Well I could not get any oil pressure so off the oil pan came, only 5/6 bolts were holding it on, the gaskets also had a shitload of blue gasket sealer, even the oil pick up tube gasket had so much blue shit it filled the tube hole, the middle was cracked open so oil could have got thru, it had a lo...

Re: Around Waynos house

I test fired the other A14 engine I have today, it starts and runs for a few seconds, it has no water pump/alternator/exhaust or transmission connected to it, it's mounted on an engine stand and being backed up with the chain/hoist, I can only run it briefly(maybe 5 seconds so far) without coolant, ...

Re: Escape From the Prison Planet

I thought maybe the last photo was looking towards the start of the Rocky Mountains as you cannot see any mountains in the other photos.
I still remember like it was last year flying the Continental Divide in Idaho, that was around 25 years ago.

Re: My 1980 Datsun 720 diesel dually

Thanks, this one is starting to look like the engine compartment in the 521 kingcab now, no room to even work on it anymore, if the starter or alternator go bad I have to remove everything to get to them, but at least I can change the oil filter on this one without removing a bunch of stuff. https:/...

Re: Escape From the Prison Planet

Is that last photo looking northeast? I didn't have the money for a bike like that Indian when I rode, and then I burnt out on riding and have not owned a bike since, that was 35 years ago and I still don't miss it, but I have not rode one in a long time, if I did I might get interested again, and I...

Re: My 1980 Datsun 720 diesel dually

I did connect the inter-cooler into the system this afternoon after I got the vibration thing figured out, everyone knows about how I was saying earlier that the turbo was clocked wrong and how the waste gate was at a weird angle and how I fixed it by drilling a hole in the middle of the bracket, I ...

Re: My 1980 Datsun 720 diesel dually

So, angles are the same and vibration is gone? The angles are the same as when I first put the mobile home leaf springs on and it vibrated on that trip to pay my water bill at the water bureau place, it has vibrated since, obviously because the yoke got pulled out if the transmission too far, at le...

Re: My 1980 Datsun 720 diesel dually

So I got under the truck this morning and looked around, took a photo of the yoke, measured the rear drive line piece and then measured my extended 521 drive line piece from the 521 work truck chassis, it was around 3 inches too short. I checked the drive line angles again and they were way off, but...

Re: My 1980 Datsun 720 diesel dually

OK, I got under there with a 90/45 degree angle thing that normally is used to draw lines on wood/metal to make straight cuts, I had the rear 2 angles really close and it was as bad as ever. Right now the front piece is in the stock position again, I will get under there and get a photo of the yoke ...

Re: My 1980 Datsun 720 diesel dually

It really didn't seem that important to even mention before because it's only a half inch, it didn't even deform the carrier rubber piece. Also how does one adjust or even measure 3 different angles when one cannot even get in there, I have 3 U joints which all have an angle, the one at the yoke in ...
