Re: Escape From the Prison Planet

It's been pretty ridiculous this year. I'm pretty much in town long enough to pay bills and mow the lawn, then back to the airport. I was supposed to get a 5 week stretch at home but 3 1/2 of those got assignments dropped on them. Like I've said before, this project is temporary so I need to get th...

Re: Escape From the Prison Planet

I'll PM ya when I get closer to the trip. We're doing a week of Fred Meyer's stores on a messed up schedule. Monday, 11PM. Tues 4AM. Tues 11PM. We'd 4AM. It carries on like that until I end my week in Idaho Falls. Per diem daily along with nighttime bonus each day. The slack jaw my company is sendin...

Re: Escape From the Prison Planet

I know I've asked before...what town do you live in?

Just south of Boise, isn't it?

I'm taking a trip, 2nd week of February, through I84.
Start in Meridian. End in Idaho Falls.

Constant noise while rotating...internal or pressure plate is my guess.

Re: Hard headed Hardbody

Yes the 1985/86 regular cab/short box Nissan 720 2wd trucks had short shaft 5spd transmissions in them with speedo gear drives, you can remove the front napZ case and put an L block case on it and put it in a 521 with a transmission mount mod. We know. I actually have a Wayno mount in my stash of s...

Re: Hard headed Hardbody

Shorty 720 transmission? Did I read that right?

Is it going to be being used?

Re: LZ20 engine build

9.7 with a slight cam sounds perfect. Yea, Jess' motor was like 10.7 or something with an open head. Such a bad idea. It was pig rich to cool it down. And leaner and it probably would have put a hole in the piston. I remember uberkevin and I taking a trip there. I couldn't even be near the garage b...

Re: LZ20 engine build

I would stay at max 9.5 CR unless you have bigger cams to drop the Dynamic compression ratio. At 9.4 I had to run a tad rich and adjust my dizzy to get it to run on Chevron Premium. It would take 76 Premium too, but all else would ping. I could get high 20s on the freeway. This was with a U67, so o...

Re: LZ20 engine build

Your compression numbers seem high. Last time i did the math on this, a while ago, I could have sworn it was closer to 10:1

They are flat tops.

Re: LZ20 engine build

Is it a Z20 from a truck or a car? That I am not clear on. My guess is car because of dipsticks location, front. There is a hole in the rear with a plug for the dipsticks to go there too. All say displacement, but if waynos engine gets 8 miles to the gallon...there really is no reason to be driving...

Re: LZ20 engine build

I'm asking because I happen to have a Z20 engine here with all the L20B to assemble it.

Arguing with my self about putting that together or removing the pistons and using those in the L18 I have with L16 rods on an L18 crank. Either option would use a W53 C/C head.
