Re: The "Retired" 510
Cool I'll look into that when the time comes. I tried to cut in a semi straight spot, thinking ahead to one of those sleeve deals with big hose clamps on both ends. But the ground clearance issue needs fixing still. I'm sure a shop could use my tubing to do what I want. It just needs to be sucked up...

Re: The "Retired" 510
Got it out. See that round thing to the right of the crossmember? It's about 1/16" thick soft rubber, That's all that was preventing it from rubbing the body, and it wasn't really doing that. https://s13.postimg.cc/6d8odifrb/20180226_143548.jpg https://s13.postimg.cc/4lfpim447/20180226_143606.jpg ht...

Re: The "Retired" 510
Gotta love forgetting a step. Entire rear end is unbolted, but I can't get it out from under the car until I disconnect the driveline. Haha, fml. So that rear crossmember I got yesterday is sand blasted and needs a finish to keep it protected. You guys have any idea's, besides powder coat? (unless s...

Re: The "Retired" 510
Drove up to Seattle today, brought back a trunk full of Datsun. Rocker panels, strut tower tops, and a rear crossmember. The rockers are still questionable, will have to clean them up to see what's up. https://s13.postimg.cc/ppyngt2av/20180225_131910.jpg https://s13.postimg.cc/y883l5gjb/20180225_174...

Re: The "Retired" 510
Pulled the trailing arms to get started on replacing the bushings. Slapped the crusty drums on them so the new ones don't get damaged. About ready to drop the rear crossmember/diff. https://s13.postimg.cc/q8bpwjmk7/20180224_161458_001.jpg https://s13.postimg.cc/hdavm0q1z/20180224_161528.jpg https://...

Re: The "Retired" 510
That would be cool, but aren't you working nights? Living in Newberg, I'm actually close to some of my friends again. On that note, at least three of them work with you. Lol I'm seriously considering replacing the windshield when I pull it out this time. Just so much pitting, haze, chips, and genera...

Re: The "Retired" 510
Finished the wheel well undercoating. Started a year ago, but its much easier with no wheels/struts in the way. Sanded the paint and surface rust off the frame rails first of course. https://s13.postimg.cc/46t749zsn/20180222_191156.jpg https://s13.postimg.cc/4wbzgnfrr/20180222_191211.jpg https://s13...

Forgot all about fixing the taillight harness up. The reverse light socket has been broken on every harness I've seen https://s13.postimg.cc/4hwesbsjr/20180218_150219.jpg https://s13.postimg.cc/fg7oa8m7b/20180218_150229.jpg https://s13.postimg.cc/g5qgmm26f/20180221_162231.jpg And I got this tailligh...

Re: The "Retired" 510
Little by little this is getting straightened out. That big crack scares me, needs to be welded. Here's where it started. Not horrible, but still no fun. I'm guessing something was hit low to the ground and at low speed. No upper frame rail distortion, just a bit of crumpling down low. https://s13.p...

Re: The "Retired" 510
Been masking and sanding with other random in between. Mounted the tire with the drum, fit is looking good. I'll be able to dial the camber out when I get this new properly slotted crossmember. Thing is, it's all the way up in Seattle, working on figuring out pickup/delivery. https://s13.postimg.cc/...

And I went with everything from McMaster Carr. The price nowadays comes out to about $53 with the hardware. I got mine from Home Depot since I remembered I need it while I was there. https://s13.postimg.cc/ix9l8vknr/Screenshot_20180202-105701.jpg This and the fuel cap leak fix are in my top subtle m...

Re: The "Retired" 510
Just imagine the spring seat staying in the same spot, but the threaded tube moving down. Kinda tripped me up for a second yesterday also. I did move the collar down an inch yesterday. I'm going to use the 5mm wheel spacer for peace of mind. Don't want the tire rubbing the strut like Jacob pointed o...
