So, all the hoopla on this car and the guy couldnt sell it....now wrecks it and still wants over 2x what he paid......dumbass....

I have a 1969 datsun 510 wagon needs repair willing to sell it I put a lot of money and time into this car :'(

The problem with it is that I took the front end apart to start working on it and as I was driving it I got hit in the front so it has a bent fender hood and headlight panel and one of the headlights where busted, but it has a rebuilt l20b engine in it with a 5 speed transmission and also has a re sprayed engine bay, I put new rims on it and new tiers

I would keep this car but I have no time to do the repairs. 2000 O.B.O give me an offer

Are you effing kidding me? If that thing is worth $2k, mine should be worth $10k. I don't remember that car being all that nice before it was wrecked.

Exactly Jess! Just because we love Datsun's doesn't mean we will pay the Leno price. I dont know if its the same guy...but it seems to me is. Other than wheels/tires, dont see all the "work" he's done. The car had issues before the wreck. There is a super nice orange one for $7500 that is too much in my opinion. What you paid to make is generally not what you get back out. For that price, I'd get a 1965 Chevelle.......

If that's rustina's old car that isn't the first time it's been wrecked in the front.

I never liked that car. I doubt new suspension and steering components would ever make it drive correctly.

I posted a pic of this car in the sightings thread a couple months ago when it came in to work for an oil change. Priced a bit high IMO.

This truck was listed as a 68 Datsun 510 or just a 68 Datsun, as when I went in there and asked which was row 10, the guy asked me what I was looking for, I told him the Datsun truck, he said OK, we have been having a lot of misunderstandings about that vehicle, I told him I expect he has.
The front sheet metal wasn't that good, hood was totaled, one of the fenders was warped badly, don't remember about the other fender, front turn signal buckets are still there, as they are a little rusty, but when I decided to take them, the mount stud broke off on the first half turn, so I walked away from them.
The windshield had one small rock hit, but it had cracks coming out of it. :(

Shame about the turn signal studs. Those seem to be commonly damaged parts on 520s. Were the lenses worth grabbing?

Driverside wasn't broken, but it had small stress cracks like all old lenses get, I have extra, so I didn't grab the one good one.

I bought the complete dash, tailgate, and speaker box housing, the dash was for sale, but I think it is sold to Charlie, as he was asking about it.
