It's got a peanut butter vinyl, I plan to make some inserts to match for the back, and find few pop out windows to try and retro fit to my back fixed window doors. That's about it.

I would like one more low back captain chair for behind the driver. And I have insalation/vapor barrier sound deader for inbetween the inner supports, I'll hopefully cover over with upholstery vinyl. Nothing real flashy, just an insert with piping. Something for the floor that I can roll up to do truck stuff.

I pulled the govener today, it's a a lighter weight set but intact and the gear is good.
I got the modulator valve to come out, I really expected to find a spring in there but didnt. Made a proper vacuum line.
Started to warm it up to top off the fluid and test it, but this crimped off oil line (one of 2 crimped off oil lines) fanned me and the cabin in oil.
It took a few second of "WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING" before my brain kicked in.

Done for today. Just so many little things to button up before I can even decide what needs fixed first.

I think the only way I can clean this motor without destroying my interior is to drop it out. . The front I could clean easily with the doghouse on, but the whole issue is the back top. Maybe I could build a bubble. Lol

The yards around here DON'T LET PEOPLE IN THEM! Not a single place i can check out a few different examples of how this should be installed.
I have a fsm on the way, but I have had to go to the yard and check shit out so many times... it sucks so hard to see 6 vans in a yard, but the best they can do for you is retrieve a part for you while you wait.. maybe.
And they tell you they don't have cars... that you can clearly see from the road .

Interesting that it's got a points distributor in it.
Pulling the engine is a huge ordeal. I'd build a big plastic barrier and clean it in place. You'll likely be revealing that intake before it's all over too if your goal is bone dry engine.

An heI dizzy was apperently bad, or they didn't know how to wire it, because it's in a box in the back.

Right?
That's why I have assumed it must be faulty, but I'm pretty fucked up today still, from doing what little I could.. I might grab the hei and inspect it for obvious problems, something I can do from my chair with my leg up over my head.

Cool thing about an HEI is that they're easy to bench test. Jumper from batt+ to B+ terminal and another batt- to the distributor casting. Put a spark plug (also grounded) in one of the plug wires, and spun the gear.

I was going to say they probably tried to hookup the + to the HEI, but the original points wire in GM’s are resistor wires that drop voltage. Then I see it’s a 75’ so it should have had a HEI as original?

It should have a 400 small block origanlly also, long gone though.
So today I got out my crutches, in hopes that I got all the little shits ready to just warm it up and check transmission levels...
I see I'm a quart low... what I didn't notice, was that the transmission dipstick tube has a huge foot long split up the bottom of it...
So the quart I added simply dumped out the bottom of the filltube, into my engine bay, and the fan just whipped it all over everything..
I killed it and cleaned up what I could on crutches. And just feel generally defeated.
This fucking van.

After a long talk to a guy at the local junk yard, he agreed that If I sign a waiver, he would send me out in the yard with a chaperone.
Hopefully to get the correct crossmember.
And the correct gas peddle with a kickdown switch.
Mane a few little things.
