I'd recommend a set of those spreaders that go on the VCs and distribute the load of the VC bolts too.

I ordered valve cover gaskets and a temp sending unit from these guys... they sent an open packet of nut drivers... wtf. I was sure that the box didn't look right..

Ah man, here is a 77 chevy rv, with a chrome grill, 400 small block th400 and I'm not sure, but possibly a crossmember.
Plus new furnishings for my living room.
For 500$
It kills me I can't go try and work something out on something like this and then scrap it.

A, no kickdown,
B, vacuum mod on right side,
C kickdown wire.
Also I ran the chassis numbers, which are actually the vin numbers.

Might be on a frame and completely different. With the 1 ton or whatever that big lug pattern, and what looks like a wide wheel base.

Joey, aka guest, aka kamakazi sent me some early c10 mirrors. They look pretty good, and fit right into the stock bracket in the door.
Image
I was feeling alittle beat up but I was determined to get something done, so I thought I might move it alittle closer to electrical power and sit down inside and just stitch a few welds on the slider door, where it's cracked.
But once I moved it over, I noticed a foot wide puddle of atf under it. Nothing in the spot it's been sitting for a week now.
I have to look into how a th400 works but I think the front seal is bad now, or perhaps the pump seal. Idk.

I've started calling around looking for a storage unit I could fit a van in and still have room to work, so I can get my brakes/wheel bearings checked out, and fixed, and probably drop this trans out now.
If I'm doing that I might as well drop the engine out to do the pan, rear main, and valve covers....
Too much stuff for me to do. It might take me 2 months idk.

You're making me tired. But summer is coming and it needs to be adventure-ready. No pressure.

Well, I was getting ready to stomp something off my list.. but I just heard my mom and brother are headed over for a suprize visit. So now I'm in clean my tiny one room mode.
Harder for me than you might suspect.
But, it will be cool to see them.

Man, I try to just keep my shit to myself, because it is all lame and is basicly just whining..
But today is the best weather this week.. and I'm underground with my leg up, using my crutches today, to get back and forth to the bathroom.
I kinda want to ride these crutches out and fuck with my van, but at the same time would like to be able to walk tomarow.
But I have this dude in my head saying "you'll be fine, just take it easy, you can do some stuff..."
Wich is why I'm on crutches today, I was trying to get my tools situated now that I'm using some of them.. and we'll I just leaned forward a bit on my left ankle, and it gave out, started shaking, and is all swollen and pink today.
I often get what I can only discribe as a super bad sunburn, it gets extremely sensitive to touch, or light, or wind, or anything. Later my skin will peal and I will have a few small blisters.
Those parts all suck, but equally sucky, my body releases a bunch of adrenaline the whole time I'm having these reactions, so I get super sick, and can't think right.
And then it tapers off.. kinda, most of the time.
My only comfort is that I can mumble "worse than natural child birth" to my gf every time I crutchet to the restroom. Suck on that ladies.

Scoff... lol.
Well no van today either, still not able to support weight.
I did organize my 1/4 drive sockets out of an ice cream bucket and onto a socket jockey. I might limp out and grab my coffee can on 3/8 sockets and do the same.
But I don't see me doing a whole lot other than that.
I need something for my wrenches, I'll probably cut some slots in an old pant leg and just roll them up, I don't care for the little trapazoid plastic holders..

Well, I have more ambitions than smarts, I crutched out to get a coffee can full of sockets without figuring out how to carry them back. Lol.
Van looks cool though .

Well nothing is easy, I have to modify the pedle and or brake to get this kickdown switch in.
After much back and forth I decided that the bracket must get modified.
It hit the heater vent, wiper motor and the fire wall. And put the peddle on the doghouse. So I lopped the top off, and cut a big ol peice of pie out of the side, and bent it over and out until it tripped my switch.

Image
Bout where it needs to be for a hack fix
Dug out my welder and bottle, and got it all set up in the stairwell... and then my Flow Meter started popping crazy, I looked over and it jumped from 5# to 20# and then piped again and the dial just started spinning.
I think I have enough for a new one, I'm going to try and get down there before I'm done for the day.

Probably the worst vc I've ever put back on a motor.. was going to paint it but never mind, just uncaved where the chain had crushed it, and pounded it as flat as possible.
Image cleaned it up, and used a good brush of high tack.
