This stuff takes fab skills, tools, and a vision.

Re: Really Ratty Rusty Ruby 510/miata
Thanks. I always like to have a few projects going at once, so I can take a break from one. Selling the 2dr 710 made this project more of a focus and allowed me to buy the tools I need to hopefully finish it. But I still have a few other "non-car" projects going.

I plan on "body dropping" the back of the car another 1.25", when I fix the roofline, so it sits level with the Miata rocker panel seams:

You have definitely done something I have always wanted to see. Raise the wheel well in the rear (well you did both). I have always thought the body of the 510 had too much rake. It looks so much better laid out flat like the Hakos.
Keep up the good work!

I'm stoked with how it's sitting, but it's still raked higher in the back. Another inch lower in the back, and the bottom of the doors will be level with the ground. I just need to raise the rear parcel tray area of the 510 body.
Then I can start making giant bubble flares:

Have you thought about adding to the bottom of the car? Rocker panel area? Looks like the rear of the quarter panel (behind wheel) comes lower down than the front side. Maybe part of the rocker panel.

Sweet! I'm jelly of your skills! It's starting to look pretty good. And you know the best part? People will be like, you took something aerodynamic and ruined it!!
Because Datsun.
