Re: How to Repair your Relays
I see in DQ, Vol 7 issue 3, Jason Gray's article on repairing the headlight relay states; that if all else fails, the 280zx headlight relay will work on the 510. The part number is: 25230-N4300.

I will look into it, but I think the alternating flash gets more peoples attention... Plus, it's not like I have to look at it!

Re: Side Marker Light Conversion
I finished wiring these into the 510 tonight. I wanted the job to look as original as possible. Here is how it turned out: To start, my shipment came in from http://vintageconnections.com/ I used these connectors to wire up the lights: http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac296/groovin65/510%20side ...

Re: Side Marker Light Conversion
Thank you.
It just blew me away to think about how many people might have read that DQ article and hooked their lights up that way without taking a second consideration of what's actually going on.

Side Marker Light Conversion
This works for any of the side marker lights with metal housings. The ones I'm working with here are from my 510, but I will post a pic below of the 620 unit to show how similar it is. My quest started by reading this article in DQ Vol. 1 Issue 1: http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac296/groovin65 ...

How to Repair your Relays
Try this first, before throwing that old relay away!!! Or do this to your relays anyways to get get better current flow out of them: You can do the same to switches too, like your headlight or wiper switch. They don't use contact points, but they have connections that get oxidized and dirty. If your ...

Re: nwdatsuns pay it forward thread
Got some factory 620 front running lights with decent shape lenses if anyone wants them. One has a good connector and the other is crimped with cut wiring. Would also trade for decent condition seat belts (lap belts would be nice). Do you still have these Matt? I bought some off eBay from Thailand ...

Re: nwdatsuns pay it forward thread
I organized a spare tool box I had sitting on the shelf. And since then, these have been sitting on my bench top for 3 months... Three 3/8 ratchets no name, one 6mm Taiwan wrench, one 3/8 drive to 1/4 drive adapter, and a bunch of bits. You take them all, I pay for shipping... http://i250 ...

Re: ignition possibilities for a 510
I like the suggestion of buying an EI dizzy and putting a kill switch in it. Two birds, one stone. MSD ignitions allow you to do the same. You just ground out the signal wire. I did that with my '65 Mustang. Same situation, no column lock. I used a Club on it too like you've got in your picture. You ...

Re: ignition possibilities for a 510
That reminds me; A guy in high school had a clean original '70 Chevelle. His dad had just given him the car. He walked into shop class and asked if we could get it to start for him. We gave it the whole run down... Turns out, there was a kill switch just behind the rocker panel under the car. With ...

Re: Cheap and nice door panels
I think I know what material your talking about. It should work. Hit it with some 200-400 grit sand paper to give it a little tooth and take down the imperfections. The back deck of that Firebird in the picture is MDF that the owner had spray painted. The glue worked just fine on that. Just make ...

I started by recovering bench press and other work out equipment cushions, using similar materials to Datmo's process. You just pickup tips and tricks along the way.

Yeah sorry, I didn't intend to "show" anyone up, only that I've got some experience in the matter..... And to show another choice for materials and technique.

Re: 74 620 wiring
I'm good, thanks. I just need to spend time with mine. Someone removed the ignition switch and put in a toggle switch and start button. I'm guessing I just need to find all the wires and put everything back together.

Re: 74 620 wiring
Ehh, I was looking at the '73 620 diagram... Same thing though. It matches what's in my truck and Laecaon's pic. Although, the one in the diagram, pictures as if you are looking into the connector from the front (or the side that plugs into the switch) So Laecaon's pic there; the BW to the left of ...

Like I said I would have done it a bit differently if it were mine, but "the customer gets what the customer wants"

So you need to know what wire goes to what port in the back of the switch?....
It's in the wiring diagram you posted on the other thread...
