Art the stock 510

Just going to do it fast here. 2nd/3rd owner, blue 99.5% stock dime. Belonged to Art Hughes since new, who passed away in december 2012. Was important to him the car went to people that loved it as much as him, my dad bought it, then i bought it from my dad since its been my dream dime as long as i can remember. I also loved Art like a grandfather, one of the greatest datsuners you would ever meet in your life. At my first show i won best stock (only stock LOL) and i was really surprised i won best of show, i know Art is just smiling up there. As agreed on the realm, Blue has pretty much been nicknamed to Art. Photos (NO OICS HERE!)

Really like this car. Happy I got to see it at Canby and Blue lake. Even happier that such a nice Datsun is in good hands.

Thanks Dalesun, appreciate that alot. I really love this car, just as much as i loved the man that owned it.

I had the vinyl cutters at the show make this sticker that tristin designed for me, kind of to honor art, you see those in memory stickers on peoples cars all the time, i thought this was a neat spin on it that tristin came up with. Arts name, birth year and pass date on a datsun burger. I just love it.




Now for her to go back in garage after the nwz show for her winter slumber, plan on finally putting on the brand new carb i have for her this winter as well, the old one leaks a bit and causes some rough start ups and idle. I also have a few other little things to do to her this winter, so front end may be coming apart for a few things to get done in the engine bay, and fixing a oil leak shes developing.

Just amazes me how much attention to detail art paid to the car, reading every single thing he wrote about the car, even going down to phillips screws. Figured id share these pics, ive been documenting all the info i have for the car for my records to know what i have, figured id share some of it. Current appraisal i had puts it at 25k, back in 2005 it was 16k. Shows how much prices have gone up on our cars in under 10 years. Art never ceases to amaze me, even after he passed. Guy was just amazing.
