overflow tank pics!
I was wondering what some of you were using?
I'm planning to go to 7/11 sunday and get an arizona. (sacrifice it) and take the video of it of course, then use as an overflow.
I'm not sure where to put it or how to keep the hose in. lol.
anyways, pics!

Re: overflow tank pics!
Some of the B210/210s have this small bottle/bracket that connects to the radiator fan shroud screws/bolts, they make a great universal overflow bottle.
I am sorry, but I have no photos of my engine compartment with the bottle in them.
You have to look around to find the radiator bracket type holder, some are mounted on the inner fender hardware that don't work at all.

Use the tab to hold the line in. Spin it around and shove through tab into hole. All mighty ziptie to hold on.

These photos are of my 521 work truck with a B210 radiator overflow bottle, it's a great little setup.

Re: overflow tank pics!
Early rad caps vent one way only. Get a later coolant recovery rad cap. These work the same way when the coolant expands or overheats on shut off. It vents the coolant into the recovery can/bottle or w/e. The trick thing is that when the rad cools the coolant siphons back in to keep the rad topped up. Only thing needed is the over flow tube must be at bottom of the recovery can and submerged. Jut half fill with coolant and check now and then. I put this on all my Datsuns. Almost never have to top them up and anti freeze coolant isn't wasted.
The recovery caps have two rubber seals on them.
Why would want anything else?????

My Datsuns, like good friends, have never let me down. At least in any way that was not understandable and thus fixable.
Re: overflow tank pics!
I have an aftermarket rad (champion alum) so i already have a rad cap for it.
And i just decided to use a simple coke bottle.
you think this should be okay?
It's honestly temp until I see if it actually leaks or not. Otherwise, it kinda makes it look trashy...

It will work to catch any over flow but for $5 you could have coolant recovery and hardly ever have to pour the bottle back in the rad.

I honestly know what you mean and understand but I'm using this as a test to see if it even spills.datsunmike wrote:datmo wrote:I have an aftermarket rad (champion alum) so i already have a rad cap for it.

If in the first month and a half or so, nothing happens, then I'll trash it.
I'd love to have more room in the engine bay.
with that said, I'm gonna look for a battery relocate kit,

I have a bottle and bracket like what Wayno posted that I will not be using.
If interested...you know what to do.

If it does turn out to actually put a lot of water out, then I'll hit you up.

Re: overflow tank pics!
has your plastic bottle melted yet? I ran a nos energy drink bottle and it melted if you use glass or metal and run the correct cap it will work just like a ready made recovery tank
