Cool fridge. Is that the same company that made Nash cars? We have a couple old fridges like that. It still works and is hella cold, I'll take a pic when I get home if I remember.

Looks like ours is a Monkey Wards model, Year??? It needs a paint job, hopefully someday it will be in a mancave.
We have another somewhere, and a couple of old claw-foot bath tubs too.

My Datsuns, like good friends, have never let me down. At least in any way that was not understandable and thus fixable.

Kraft paper is an excellent insulator, in it's corrugated form even better, with the trapped air spaces. Not very hi tech but when this was built no one gave a shit about efficiency.
Did you know Einstein holds a patent for a magnetically cooled refrigerator??? True story bro

That thing has some nice lines. Might look good with some Gene Winfield style candy fade treatment to accentuate the highs and lows.

Re: Fridge Resto-Mods.
Right! My eyes are peeled, too. What's funny is I will drag it home, and it will sit. I'll have it in my head that I will get it home, clean it up, shoot some paint, and it will be the shit! And it will really just sit in my car port for a year and then ill sell it

Re: Fridge Resto-Mods.
Lol you guys, the only reason we have one is because it was in the original ranch house, hopefully it will get restored someday, but who knows.

Re: Fridge Resto-Mods.
Finally got around to fixing the handle on the on the Kelvinator. Used Automix and a couple nails inside the cavity to make it one piece again. Since it still had the holes I wrapped it again. I double wrapped every 7th loop to give it a uniform finger relief look. Came out alright, I guess.
Then I was finally able to put it all back together. Only thing left to do is get the door pinstriped and figure out a spot for it to live.
Got the Frigidaire moved upstairs and put it into party duty last night. Kept everything nice and cold. Sorry about the flash -- it's a really dark room.
Plenty of Brawndo left but not sure where all the beer went .

maybe when you finally get your garage built, you could track down a vintage fridge to put in it.510freak wrote:must resist the urge to look for old fridge....
