Checked the exhaust bolts and they are tight although the manifold is really rusty. Anyone know someone who could throw a new exhaust on for me for cheap? I did some more research and I'm thinking it might be the valves still. I see a few purple suggesting to adjust the valves to 0.014 and put each cylinder to TDC. Does that sound right for the diesel?
I went and looked at the gas motor today and the dizzy had some spots that looked like they got too hot. The wires were in the right places. Don't have the proper tools to do a compression test.

well just verify wires are going to the right spot. if the plastic looks metled on the cap, or the contacts are burned or corroded, swap them out... or clean the contacts at least.
