So i finally parked the 1200 and decided to rebuild a motor or two over the winter.
my overall goal is to essentially throw new seals at my a12 and run it as is just to keep the 1200 mobil until i compleate my a14/h72 forced induction.

So pulling apart the a12 i was thinking about running the h72 head with a 32/36 weber but the deeper i dig into the a12 the more im starting to realize it becoming a money pit for a temporary motor im not trying to dig to deep into.

Check out the pistons...
Image

Took the h72 in and got her torn apart and tanked to now its off to the machine shop next week to drill the oil port and milled
Image

Ditched the points and modified the a12 dizzy bracket for the a14s

picked up two compleate gasket sets for the a12 and a14 one felpro and the other nissan factory

Running the a14 dizzy

Kinda tossed the idea around ovet the last couple nights and i really had no intentions of doing anything other than really re sealing the a12 but i had a h75 head laying around so i decided to go oval port and start cleaning her up plus it will make it a little more easy to bolt up to my current exhaust flange since im pulling the a14 out.

Oh and cant forget to drill you oil port to mate with the block!

Nice to see another sedan, not a lot out this way, always torn over the rarity and cool lines of the sedan and the cute butt of the coupes. Currently looking for a coupe though.
Any idea how the pistons received there unique characteristics? Are you thinking about a draw through setup on the turbo? can't wait to see that motor come together. I have a GX head, intake, carbs, and exhaust that I will be trying to bolt on to my a15 I have in the shed this summer when the weather turns. wish I had a garage,

Im running the 1.4/h72 right now but am currently swapping a a12 back in so i can rebuild the a14. Just threw new gaskets, seals, etc... with a h75 head on it just so the car is mobile

I wouldnt mind coming across a coupe as well bur the sedans still have my heart lol
no idea how the pistons got dinged up. Good news is before i pulled the motor apart it had good compression and the cylinder walla were fine so rings must be good! And as far as boosting it id rather blow through. I made a top hat to suit my weber so still need to come across a amr500 or sc12 mr2 supercharger. Oh and u wish i came across some gx goodies you lucky bastard!

Cleaned up and undercoated the trunk this weekend and ripped out the old tank.

Image

The new fuel cell with psycho yellow powder coated straps

Image

Picked up a mr.gasket electric fuel pump its the 12s model which runs 4-7 psi so next thing on the list is pressure regulator and gauge to cater to my weber 32/36

Image
My tank mocked up on kendoft with 1/4 spring nuts

Image

Also started plucking away at the wire tuck.

All in all a good weekend!!!

Hi!

I see your post, and i have the similiar problem.
I bought an A14 Head to put on my A12 Engine (The distribuitor is on front)
so you drill a hole oil in A14 head to lubricate the springs valves and arms You mark the hole with the gastet, please explain me all the process.

Many thanks on advance.

Luis
