Lol. You made it look pretty easy in the pics! I should have just re-skimmed the thread.

Another beautiful Oregon winter day! Took the opportunity to drive the Cutlass to Troutdale and picked up a set of 15X7 Jeep wheels. Now I have the peanut butter for my chocolate. Stay tuned, it'll make more sense later.

HAHAHA. Just checked in on that other Datsun site. Poked around for a few minutes and thought I'd see how far my build thread had sunk. 19 pages  .

I've got a plan but haven't made much progress yet. Took everything to work for a slow day project...then it got busy and stayed that way.

Spent 3 hours yesterday replumbing my fuel system. When I originally put the car together I was assured that Gates rubber EFI hose from front to back would be fine. It should have been. After about a year all the rubber began to develop light cracks in a lengthwise direction. It only got worse over time. I asked my Napa rep repeatedly over the last year or so if there was any official problem with the hose and of course he denied it. Even though I've seen it mentioned online in several places, there is no actual admission to a problem. Anyway, I asked the rep again this week and he said he'd comp me some replacement hose. This time I decided to just bite the bullet and run steel line with short sections of rubber at teach end where necessary. I probably should have just done it that way to begin with.
I tried to get pics of the cracking but just couldn't seem to get the focus/lighting right so I gave up. What was strange about it was that the cracking was pretty uniform from front to rear. It looked the same under the car where it was exposed to the water and road elements as it did under the hood where it was dark, hot and dry. I took a section that was pretty bad and cut it open to see what it looked like inside. Looked fine.

New shoes and cylinders in the rear. Actually stops straight now that the right side isn't soaked in brake fluid.

That's always nice.

Some people have issues with drum brakes. I don't. I have always loved throwing new brake stuff at my cars. Shoes, drums, cylinders, adjusters, pads, calipers if I can, and rotors. Just knowing they are all fresh and new and will stop you like they should. Mmm. Brakes are probably one of my favorite things to do. Besides cleaning anyways. nothing like a super fresh and clean interior. Mmm.

Anyways

I know on my wagon, every time I adjusted my rear brakes, it was like a whole new car braking. It would stop smooth and flat without any dive.

She's pretty much lost interest. I just keep driving it though. Too damn useful to give up right now.
