Welded up the holes




Center punched and re-drilled


And then re tapered from the opposite direction




Now I'm off to Eugene to meet up with the gang down there

Picked up the Tie rods, a galon of purple clean, and a coupla can of brake cleaner!





Later this week ill have all the steering components cleaned up and installed. If i find extra time im gunna clean the emgine bay too

Yup, from one timing cover to the other right thru the head gasket :/

I know it'll probably bug the shit out of you just knowing it's there, but honestly I doubt it would be an issue if you just left it that way. that little bolt isn't doing much in the way of clamping force. Probably more for alignment than anything else. Can the upper TC be removed by itself? That should give you enough access to drill it and use an extractor...if you must remove it. Shouldn't cost you more than time and some RTV.

I just can't leave it that way....

And it will cost me a head gasket and new headbolts to fix it :/
