auto to stick conversion

Post by datmo »

I`m sure this has been done many times but out of the few threads i read, i didnt find exactly what you need. I might be picking up a 620 this month and i was interested to see how much this whole swap would cost me.

Tranny, shifter, flywheel(5 bolt for l16/18), clutch set for a 510, matching clutch fork for 510, slave that matches tranny mounting location, manual clutch and brake pedals, clutch master for 510, hard line and soft line, and a tranny mount, which will probably be a bit custom... And depending on tranny a shortened driveshaft.

as far as trannys, you want a short tail if you don't want shorten a driveshaft. This basically means a dogleg tranny or a custom short tail truck tranny.

Find one in a yard. Pick N pull preferably.

Stash parts in the yard until they are having a sale.

When I did my auto to 5 speed swap in my 710, my parts list was; the pedals, tranny, clutch, clutch line, rubber hose to slave, slave, throw out bearing and collar, return spring for clutch pedal, flywheel, clutch master, the bolt to hold the clutch pedal and I think that is it. Oh with the collar it needs to match the engine you are running. there is a few different sizes. Also you will have to find the wires for the park, neutral safety switch. As of now this is all I can remember. I had the tranny, flywheel, clutch, collar, throw out bearing , and pedals. for me I think the total costs where about 160 and that was with getting new parts
