Doesn't look cancerous. Get a flapper disc, then por15 or something of the sort...

Yep. I tried to shove a screw driver thru it. Seemed solid. That being said, theres no easy way to get under it. Besides a soda blaster.

I'd be okay hitting it with some etching primer though? Try to at least stall it from getting worse.
Eventually/near future I'd like to relocate the battery anyways.

Battery cable almost looks long enough to relocate it to the hatch area anyways

I wasn't thinking that far back. But I also don't want to give too much away either.

Relocating the.battery would give you great access. I would nock off the crusties, and use a rust inhibitor/converter. Then.etching primer.
And I like to ad, having this coupe make you much, much more handsome.

Painted L series timing covers make me sad
An engine I'm running right now has one, too. Also painted blue, but different blue than the engine block.. but same blue as the head and valve cover
Looks like complete ass, but still runs like an L series should.

Agreed. Kevin painted it after a recommendation (mine) not to.MicroMachinery wrote:Painted L series timing covers make me sad

Motor shows up at my house-not only wrong color, but everything is the wrong color. That timing cover included.
I have a fresh cover, unpainted, that will go on when I reseal the front due to dropped chain-again, not me.
Now if I could just find a damned 5 speed.
