Started gluing the rear the vinyl back in the rear window. Tomorrow I'll cut carpet and get it installed back there.

Re: The forgotten Beige 69 510 build - NWD edition
Just got a call from insurance saying the car was rejected as being insured as an antique show vehicle. Probably based on the pictures they wanted me to send over.
I explained, just because it's not a $100,000 car doesn't mean it's not worthy of being driven to or being shown at a car show. Also explain the car needs to be insured BECAUSE I'M TAKING IT TO A CAR SHOW THIS WEEKEND.
Stupid insurance. If they require it to be insured at the full amount as my other DD vehicles (this being the 4th car on the policy.. the other 3 are DD status) I'll just insure it with on of the antique collector car insurance companies.
Not all cars need to be pretty to be loved and displayed.

Try Hagerty. Agreed value of $8K on my Cutlass runs me less than $200 a year. All they required was that it's parked inside and I have another daily driver.

Carb swapped... runs ok.. but not road worthy.
Looks like I'll have to target blue lake.. and just drive the Z tomorrow.
Sigh.... ah well.

What makes it "not road worthy"?
I guess all that matters is that you get there, see you there tomorrow.

It's sticky.. it will run high... Then low... Stumble.. start missing at times. It might make it how it sits but it needs a lot more work. I'm awake now and getting ready to drive to canby.. but in the z.

Re: The forgotten Beige 69 510 build - NWD edition
Got home after Canby.. and got started in the garage again. Cold start with the SU's was miserable. Choke only made things worse.. Once warm.. idle was a bit high but I actually hoped in the car and took it down the road. Stopped off at the gas station.. put $10 in the tank. Drove home.. past my house and drove a bit further. Car immediately took a shit. And I once again pushed it home. Only about 4 blocks this time.
I can see the rear fuel filter (glass) is full of shit.. I'll clean it out. I wouldn't be surprised if some shit is stuck in the tube in the tank or something.. cause no gas in glass filter.
Also found out the gas gauge doesn't work. yay.

SUs have their own screen filters in the fuel inlets. You have to disassemble the float tops to access.

Didn't know that.. I'll inspect. I have two inline filters before the carbs. One in the engine bay and a glass filter right off the fuel tank. The glass one has no gas in it. I suspect blockage at the tank outlet.
Somewhere in this thread or on ratsun I pressurewashed the shit out the tank.. but still lots of little bits of evil still getting caught in the glass filter.
