Of all people, Banner, you know my personal life and project life don't quite sync up so well.
Things are happening. Just slowly.
I'll post more tonight.

Re: Smaller. Better. Slower. Lower.
So......
A little while ago, I got approached by one of our vendors.
His work sponsors a circle track car. 1989 240sx, KA-E.
Car has a blown head gasket. My parts guy directed him my way because of my Nissan experience.
Matt is the guys name. Matt is the customer relations manager for AAW, the biggest parts warehouse in Tri-Cities.
Another side note-I do not do side work. Despise side jobs.
The day Matt approached me I was sick as shit and elbows deep in a car that was giving me problems.
He asked if I would do the job for him and I hemmed and hawed about it. I told him to hit me up in a couple of days and we'll go from there.
Matt agrees and takes off. This was a Tuesday. His schedule would put him back in my shop Friday.
So I finished my problem car and had a chance to think about the car/job.
ALLDATA said it would be a 7ish hour job. I normally charge $30-45 on the side, depending on working conditions.
Not a lot to be made for time away from my personal agenda. I very much value my off time.
BUT WAIT! This guy runs the biggest parts house in town!
Free parts will go further than the couple hundred bucks I'd make off the job.
I have a car in my driveway that very much needs free parts!
BOOM!!!
I called Matt right away and set up a timeline.
Car has been fixed for awhile now and seen the track for a few weeks now.
Driver/owner of car is super stoked. We're good.
So Matt is working on my parts list. I should have things coming in soon.
On my list is a Felpro gasket kit, and new water pump, a matchbox so far. More parts money to spend still.
Just playing the waiting game. Need parts. Need free time.
I also need a title. <--- Partial reason for lack on motivation.
With those listed above-parts list to run is short.
Z dogleg...Kim?
SUs need a good finger-banging. Y U so expensive Z-Therapy?
Proper radiator. Small 620 maybe the real deal. Just never had one to size in.
I'll get Kevin over here and we'll put some work in.
At that, Happy Blow Shit Up Day, fuckers!!!

Rx7 first Gen. 2 radiator sizes. Aluminum ones all over eBay. Basically the sizes are the same as either 620 radiator.

Re: Smaller. Better. Slower. Lower.
I can relate on so many points. I've put a freeze on side work for a while just simply so I can focus on my own project. The extra money is nice but sometimes there just isn't enough hours in the week. Honestly, with work being as busy as it has been, and the jobs being so generally shitty, I don't even want to think about working on cars when I get home. I totally get it. I can't speak for everyone else but, to me, this is a really cool project. Your proposed plan is very much like what I'd like to build so that's why I'm giving you a little shit about slow progress. I can't build vicariously through you if you don't actually build.

Re: Smaller. Better. Slower. Lower.
It will happen. Not getting rid of it. Not cutting it up.
My motivation died a little after discovering the trans I bought was garbage.
Good info on the RX-7 radiator. I'll look into that next.
Really want help taking off all the window trim.
Need to know more about SUs.
And time. Need time.
And sub-90° days. Fuck this heat.
