Yeah, there isn't a way to turn it off. That is without going under the house... :|

To speed up the painting process I bought a Campbell Hausfeld airless paint sprayer and a graco gun. Probably a little overkill for trim... but I have big plans.

Your door trim is not white, so are you going to paint all your trim and doors white?

Floor and the trim looks good. I love darker colored floors, they give the room a more rich feel. Just make sure if you spill any liquids on it, get it up ASAP. If it permeates the seams you could be fornicated. And splicing those laminate boards in is not something you wanna do.

I put hardwood floors in my house, but I used raw wood(oak), after it was in, I soaked it with sealer, 3 coats, I put it on there thick, as I wanted to be able to spill things on it without worrying about it, I succeeded, nothing gets in that wood, it's been about 10/12 years now.

Other things I've done.. finished painting the interior base board trim pieces. Finished painting the outside eaves.

Next up, paint all the exterior window trim and start installing facia boards. Once that's done, new gutters will be installed. fuuuuuu....

It really doesn't ever end. Ever.

This might help with your water leak problem. Be sure your pipes are strapped down to eliminate movement.

That will not fix his issue there Charlie, his water outlet is on the corner of the house and the pipe runs along the wall for 3 or 4 feet without insulation, then goes down into a concrete pad that the house sits on, and this type of piping is common around here because it don't get that cold around here normally, but he got down to about zero, and then it warmed up.
My neighbor had the same issue, but he did not cover his outlet, so when it warmed up his started leaking also, his was a slow leak though, because his pipe was copper, while Drakers is PVC, so he had a big leak.
Even I put a 5 gallon bucket over my outlet with a light bulb in it, and I still had an issue, when I turn my back faucet on, it leaks out of the handle now, but when it is off it don't leak, so it still has not been fixed.
We are not used to seeing temps get below the 20s around here, so when it gets cold like that time, lots of people have issues, I pressure wash for a living, and this spring I had to use the faucets in the back of peoples houses, because the front faucets that go threw the unheated/un-insulated garage wall all broke, lucky for them that where that pipe comes out of the wall of the house itself, it was a common practice to put a valve to turn that pipe on and off for the winter.
We have mild winters around here, and we usually have mild summers also, but things are changing, when it warms up it gets hot fast and stays hot, and when it gets cold and starts raining, it's like the pipe broke, water comes from everywhere.

I haven't been able to watch that video yet. I will though. Way no is right about the location and type of pipe though. I put an 18" frost free valve on it. I think it was 18" anyway..?

I'll still baby it when it stays below freezing for a few days.

I'll have some more updates to this thread soon. Started on the new fascia boards so I can mount my gutters better. Either that or I'll buy new gutters.. but they need a good surface to mount on.
