So, I filled up thursday morning, got home last night with almost 3/8 of a tank, I was fully prepared to get much worse gas mileage switching from that old webber and a 1200 to a 1.4 with su carbs... but I actualy think im getting better mileage. Did not expect that.

Ill fill it up and get some numbers when shes dry, but in contrast, I usually fillup before I leave the peninsula, or at the latest westport. Yesterday I planned on stopping at westport, but was just over half a tank, decided to keep goin.

Not too surprising. Webers aren't famous for their fuel economy. IMO they only make a decent upgrade compared to a worn out or otherwise fucked up Hitachi. SUs are just great carbs.

Completely agree Jess. Webers are just alright, good aftermarket support, and people tend to like them, but yea... SUs are probably the closest thing to EFI that not EFI.

Last night I got home from work on Empty, like left turns dived the needle under the line, and right turns brought it back above. Today, the car had a good needle width between empty and the needle.

But yes, be suspicious.

Bwaaaahahahahaha
Its always worked perfect, but I did upgrade to a 50amp ir alt (+20ish amps lololol)
Maybe its causin some weirdness. Maybe ill just fill it up and see what it will hold at this point. Anything more than 5 gallons would be suspect as hell.
