So today I decided to check my drive line.. I didn't feel like dealing with numbers so I jacked the truck up and put the tranny in.. so fitted where it needs to be I put a bolt in to hold it there... Grab the drive line and immediately you can see it won't work ha.. figures... Looks like I need something like 4in...

How far out should the yoke come out from the end of the trans.. it was 100 bucks for new u joints and a balance. What do you guy think it's going to cost me to get 4in added or more..

You have a shortshaft or longshaft transmission?

Short shift..

Using the long like lots of people do seems like it would work perfectly... I guess I myself couldn't find a straight yes I'm using a short trans with a one piece 520 trans.. but also did not see some say they used it with a long tall other then 1 person... kinda..

It's starting to come back to me now, it's a short shaft.
Well it looks like if you were using a long shaft it would all bolt together, sometimes decisions we make come back and bite us in the ass.
If you used a 2 piece it would likely bolt together also, we want what we want, I have never seen the thing with the 520 driveline myself, I have 2 piece on everything except the 320s, it will still vibrate if the angles are not right on the one piece.

I guess I was worried about the 2 piece with the lz and that's mainly why I got the 1 piece..

May be around 200 bucks to get what I need done..

I'll measure how much I need after work..
But again how much should the yoke come out of the end of the transmission? Like an inch?
Cuz there needs to be traveling room rigjt?

Basically if you are low and the driveline is level, meaning the tail of the transmission is the same level as the pinion flange, you only need an eighth inch.
An inch is a lot to have hanging out of the tailshaft, I would have to be there and see it to give you any kind of number.

Don't want to deal with this drive line bull. But I guess I have too... something about the drive line being metric that makes it more expensive, or Idk the guy I talked to on the phone about it seems put off when I told him it was for a datsun.

What's really wrong is that the motor is MIA.

It's the placement of the transmission mount holes on the transmission that's the problem.. I'm pretty sure. Maybe if I could FIND the FUCKING MOUNT I got from wayno.

I'll see what I'm dealing with tomorrow, I'm getting off work a little early... but of course not doing stuff for me.. always helping peps am I...

Maybe that's your whole driveline issue?

At the most it is an inch farther back, but you do not want to have a driveline made till you have the mount I made installed so that you have the correct measurement.
The mount does 2 things, it moves the mount position back, but it also lowers the tail of the transmission so the top of it doesn't hit the tunnel.

The tail hitting the top is indeed one of the problems. IT works but truly it looks like if I had this mount it would/could work...

I've looked so many places.
May need to buy another. Damn
