720 Drivetrain - Complete ------ No Longer For Sale
So, I've heard the universal and most accepted way to introduce yourself on a forum is to open a classified ad, right?
And if it wasn't for me being somewhat recognizable from that other forum so many people here are members of, I'd go about making posts else where first
I've got a Z24s drivetrain I took out of one of my 1985 720 Kingcabs up for sale here, mostly because it is now taking up shop floor space and I'm tired of it being in the way. Rolling over on the movers dolly I keep it on and spilling just about all the remaining fluids in it all over my shop floor a couple days ago didn't help its cause much either.
As it sits right now. Yes, that's the kitty litter style spill clean up stuff all over the outside of the trans, none in it though.
There was nothing much wrong with it to cause me to pull it from my truck, as the included vids will/should show, other than I want a KADE in its place. It did have a slight stumble and a hard start issue that I assumed were both carb related, but once running it was a champ.
It was removed from the truck in early May of last year and has been sitting inside my shop in the corner ever since. The vids included in this ad were taken in late April right before removing it so I had some tangible proof of its pre-removal condition.

If you pause it at 17 seconds you'll see the full cold temp gauge in the background, which does work by the way. I apologize for starting the vid after I had pumped the pedal and in the interest of full disclosure here's the early two attempts where I flooded it and then didn't wait long enough to retry.

And now after having started it, I let it idle for a bit and recorded these to add to the documentation.

Confirmation of what it all came out of
I'm listing for $300 and I'm fairly firm on that price. It does include the original shifter and air cleaner. And so you can gauge the travel needed to come pick this up, I live in Bow, WA 98232. I'm about 5 minutes Northwest of Burlington, WA, using just the zip puts you a lot farther North than I am. Also, I'm pretty much a straight 2 mile shot west of exit 232 off of I-5, not too hard to find.

That looks like a fair price, not that I'm looking for such a drivetrain. GLWSRjawm wrote:So, I've heard the universal and most accepted way to introduce yourself on a forum is to open a classified ad, right?

Did this come out of a 2WD or a 4x4.
Different gearings on the trans depending on what it was in.

Re: 720 Drivetrain - Complete
Thanks for the compliments.
It came out of a 2wd truck.
Also wanted to add that there may be a delay when I can answer back due to my Mom having just had bilateral knee replacement surgery on the 4th. I am on call to help her when needed.

Re: 720 Drivetrain - Complete
Beginning to think there's not much demand for Z24 lol
May have to go back to Plan A of just scrapping it.
I forgot to mention the trans is in good condition as well, clutch was nice and strong, no grinding, smooth shifting.

Re: 720 Drivetrain - Complete
There isn't much demand for them lol.
But I do kinda want this... Just not for 300 I dont need it. Just kinda want it. Be cool to clean it, re gasket it. De-emission it properly then stuff it in my truck. Just for general purpose. Always nice to have spare clutch and trans too. I'd have to plug the speedo hole since im 4x4... but not a biggy.
You won't get but a few bucks for it at the scrap yard. You could give it to me instead of doing that. I'd even throw ya 50 or a hundred bucks... Make more off me than a scrap yard!

No Longer For Sale
This
Plus this
Equals Profit and Bitches
So anyway, I found another D21, an 87, to put the Z24 into so it's no longer for sale.
Most likely, in a little while, the 720 trans will be though.
Thanks for all the good comments, maybe I'll throw the finished product up on here...or just on Craigslist, lol

Profit and bitches should be displayed in a build thread.

I believe you are correct sir.
As soon as I start on it and have some decent forward progress I will start a thread.
But for now, I lock.
