Re: Spoona's 81' E21 "Tracy"
To start with some stuff i said on the E21 forum last week... lol
here is more pics of that Brazilian rosewood cluster
All finished =D
and my repainted valve cover
now thats for the little stuff....
Now it is time for even more recent progress =PSpoona_Jay21 wrote:So things have been a bit Hektic this summer so there has been no update.
Anyway, we were aable to get the head off. not a fun process... and to be honest it has been so long since i did it, these pics mean nothing cause they aren't in order lol.
I Do have one question for our M10 powered Owners in Europe. is the Wiring loom for the engine bay routed through the Intake between runners? that's how it was done on mine, and i'm not sure if it was just to screw with us Americans or what!
In other matters, since i have been low on funds, i have been doin a few other projects.
Working on a Brazillian Rosewood gauge cluster bezell.
and i have been working on redoing my Valve cover.
anyway, for those who are watching, sorry for the lame update after so long, i will post up my pics from yankin the head this evening. just pics, i have no explainations :loll

Spoona_Jay21 wrote:Everything looks to have typical wear patterns. nothing out of the ordinary. looks like everything was oiling well. i was able to get some pics of the cam.
also cleaned the Carbon off the Valves. didn't get many pics of those, but they all looked normal so i'm not too concerned.
along with that i sanded down and put some clear over some pieces
some pics of a few of the contacts on the rocker arms...
Then i got tired of everything being dirty and grimey. so i took some steel wool to the rocker arms and valve springs and cups
and gave the same treatment to the distributor. alnd painted the clips black. much better than what they were.
And i have one more question for the M10 guys out there, my rear Coolant outlet below the distributor if a bit corroded.
Is there a way to pull this out? is it screwed in? pressed in? I just don't want to mess up the head my trying to pull it off when it isn't supposed to come off.
thanks again for the help and support. =D
