The photos of the red water wheel looking new/bright red were taken June of 2005, about 9 years ago. :)

The building next to that bright water wheel was made in 1998, so it lasted me 16 years.
I cannot find any photos of the old wood water wheel I made, it lasted about 7 years and then fell apart while it was turning.

I still have to set all this stuff up, I cannot even see it all in my head yet, I am just making stuff to make it look better, I will figure out the rest when I have to.
The neighbor comes over every couple days and compliments me on what I am doing, usually he gives me crap, not sure what's going on there, maybe he is losing it.

Today I looked at the water tower, the plan was to clean it up a little and re-use it, but it looks kinda dingy, old, dirty, now I am thinking about making another one that is slightly bigger, that way I can get the garbage can out of it a little easier when the filter needs cleaned, I don't know yet, need to get the water wheel turning again, and the fish out of that pool before something happens, like it gets a hole in it.
Image
The fish love that pool, it is deep, unlike the pond in the front yard, it's hard to catch them in that pool, last time I had to empty it to catch all of them.

I know it looks like an outhouse right now, but you all will see, it will look like a mill with a water wheel when done.

Imagine it with little windows and a door with a staircase, as that is part of what I have planned.

So I was at the neighbors house(Ray), we were in the garage talking when I seen another neighbor(Dave) getting out of his SUV on the passenger side, he was standing there and then he sat down on the wet driveway for no apparent reason, so I kinda mentioned to Ray while he was talking that Dave just went down, and Ray kept right on talking, so I said it again and then you could see Ray kinda click, he turned around and said something about going over there, we quickly got over there and asked if there was a problem, Dave said he hurt his ankle, now Dave weighs over 300 pounds, so Ray and I got him up and leaning against the SUV, but he could not put any weight on that leg, by that time Paul another neighbor had showed up, so Ray and Paul both of which are way bigger than me got Dave back in the SUV so the wife could take him to the hospital.
So it turned out that he had dislocated his ankle, and broken the tibia, so he was put in an ambulance to be taken to another hospital for an operation to fix the leg/ankle, while in the ambulance his blood pressure went down to 50, now I don't know exactly what the wife said, but 50 was the highest number, she then said he had almost died and was in the ICU in the hospital, it turned out that his kidneys had shut down(likely earlier that day), and the guys wife said that breaking his ankle had saved his life, because if it had happened at home, he would have died.
He was on dialysis a couple times, but now the kidneys are working again, but they have no idea for how long.

I seen the neighbor Dave today, he seems to be better, but is still in a recovery home, he just visited home today for a few hours.
I checked the fish today.
Image
I also made some progress on the pond today, I installed the water wheel today.
Image
Image
Image
I made centers for the water wheel, but they need to dry before I install them, I was unable to remove the bearings, so I had to make the centers and then cut them in half to install them tomorrow.

I made the pedestal for the water tower filter today, and spayed it with a water repellent.
Image
I have the water wheel turning now, but it is splashing water out of the pond, so I will have to figure that out, I cannot be wasting water that way.

Thanks for the save.

Wayne, does the water have enough movement to not worry about freezing? Supposed to be mid 20s tonight.

When the water is moving threw the lines, and falling in the water from the various theme features, it doesn't freeze till it has been in the 20s for a while, when ice starts to build up, I turn the pumps off and add a big aquarium heater to the water to keep a hole open.
It has half froze over the last 16 years, but I have never lost a fish because of it.
The front has no fish in it at this time, they are all in the pool in the back yard, the surface has not froze yet this winter/fall.
