They need work. I think one of the needles is bent. Actually I know it. I need to get this engine running better. I had it running good once with this carb.
I'm not giving up on them, I just need to get the timing and ignition squared away first. Then fix or get new needles and seats and see where I am with the SU's. Or just drop them off with Z-therapy.. and let them work magic.
The only thing keeping me from driving this thing... is getting it tuned correctly. It just runs like total shit. It stumbles.. misfires.. idles like shit. I've swapped carbs, dizzy's.. plugs, wires, cap, rotor.. all new.

Got the rebuild kit for the weber. Not sure I have the right adapter plates to mount it though.. fuuuuuu....

Tore down the weber and installed the kit. Everything was already clean inside.. so it was mostly just an inspection.. with new parts.
Also got to work on the rear quarter. Busted out the dremmel and removed the brass. Started the tacking the metal together.. and this is where I stopped. Ran out of wire..

My thoughts.. timing is fucked.. but I've confirmed it's fine. Massive vacuum leak somewhere, I checked around the manifold and base of the carb with propane, no change in idle at all. ??

I do get like 15" vacuum with the choke on.
Also, checking the timing is a bitch cause the water pump is leaking so it sprays you in the eye when you try look at the crank pulley. lol

Had denmarkboy (Al) come over today and we got to work tuning this engine. It's much better than it was before! Still a bit of a stumble when you blip the throttle, otherwise pretty good!
Water pump is dead.
Finally got to test this thing out. Looks like replacing the burned out capacitor fixed it! woo hoo! Ignore data on the screen.. balance test was before tuning.

Time to buy new motor mounts. (Mind are really squishy.. like to pieces of jello)
Need a new water pump, as seen by rust colored over spray on everything.
Need exhaust work.. no muffler at all. lol
