Keith.
At the end of the day, no matter what you chose. You do what you gotta. Seems to me that was the best, and most awesome choice. No hate from me, I don't have anything invested other than flicking you shit for not getting it done. But, that was all in fun. Hell bro. I've been strapped like a mother fucker. I don't know how I come up with the shit I do. Since you laid it out there. My current situation. I've been making 10-11 bucks an hour the last few years. Current child support is 700 a month. Do the math, and I'm a poor fuck. I want to keep some of my cars, other cars are just fun toys. I've sold some out of boredom, most of them out of needing cash. some how I manage to rub two pennies together long enough to sprout a datsun in my driveway. Find some cheap parts, throw it together.. Enjoy it a few months then BAM, crisis and need money... Off my car goes and find something cheaper. I've regretted most of the decisions I've made. Again, end of the day. You do what you have to do.
Hope adam understands, he's a legit dude I am sure he will.

Thanks, Tim.
I hope he understands. Adam has bent over backwards to help me out-and he owed me nothing.
Shit, when we went to go get the A10 from Idaho him and I had only met once before.
In all that is holy regarding Datsun, banner has his fingers in it.
Now, to add a little bit of a twist to the mix-when wife and I started planning for our eventual move, we decided a truck would be very helpful.
When I had come to the decision of who, what, and why-my first Datsun ever, the green 71 521, popped up on CL.

If I'm not totally hated, I'd be stoked to have a thread here for it as well as on Ratsun.
We'll see how you guys still feel about me in the morning without my make-up.

I'm all for it. I don't visit ratsun hardly every. What used to be an all day thing checking every second I could, now I got months without looking.

I was kinda bummed you were posting on Ratsun soo much and not here. No hate here, you do what you got to do, and small 2dr cars hardly fit a family anyways; at least a truck has a bed. Best of luck in your adventures!
Also, DatsunFreak, you got the car too soon. Keith was supposed to buy one of my doglegs! lols.

Re: Smaller. Better. Slower. Lower..gaver
Keith,
A couple of things. Once again it looks like you were thinking of your family first and I commend that. I understand why you did it and from here it seems like the best decision. I have no doubt that DF will do it right. As far as Adam goes, I think he will eventually be ok with it. Although he may be running around in his living room with guns in the air in his underwear right now at least you didn't sell it.
No hate from me. Do whatcha gotta. I totally understand hard times.
I'm also echoing what everyone else has said. I'm glad you got your old truck back. Make a fuckin thread and hopefully DF will continue this one.
Oh, and are the vice grips still there?

Sorry, I was busy working on my Datsun.flatcat19 » Tue Apr 14, 2015 9:26 pm wrote: The geriatric crowd has yet to respond. Jess and Kim are snoozing.
Just kidding. My Datsun never breaks.
Keith, I totally get it. I was really excited about this build from the start because I thought the direction you were taking it looked like a great combination. Also, I took my driving test in a yellow '80 210 and drove it for about a year so there is a bit of a sentimental element also. It probably wasn't an easy decision to pass it along buy at least it's going to an owner with the skills to build it and the taste to get it right.
DF, congrats on the new acquisition and thanks for saving it. I'll be impatiently watching for updates.

So would I.flatcat19 » Wed Apr 15, 2015 9:23 am wrote: @Jacob...I would still love to have your dog leg.
But Keith needs it for his truck a lot sooner than I will.
So, someone else want to ship me an L-series dogleg?
Console is in too good a shape to toss and I'm thinking a dogleg is going to be the only way to keep it in there. Need to measure and see if by some miracle a long tail would fit and come out the stock hole...

Soon they will come. Gonna freshen up the L20b while I'm finishing up the 1200. As soon as it's done (or at least running), I'll be jumping into this feet first.DRIVEN » Wed Apr 15, 2015 9:02 am wrote: DF, congrats on the new acquisition and thanks for saving it. I want to drive this thing. Like now. Every day after work I sit in it and make vroom vroom noises.

I have 2 doglegs. One l series, no first gear synchro, and 2nd going out. The other is a z series and I have no idea in condition, but it goes into all gears.

Well, I've been eyeing the Z dogleg the whole time. I already have the L bell.

What are the odds of getting your first Datsun back? Who knows, maybe this will be a new trend or somethingflatcat19 » Tue Apr 14, 2015 8:59 pm wrote: When I had come to the decision of who, what, and why-my first Datsun ever, the green 71 521, popped up on CL.
