So I ended up ordering the 86' VW radiator...which ended interestingly. Fedex said they delivered it on the 21st but no package (online said: left at doorstep). So I went through the whole lost package routine with them and finally got it replaced by the vendor which is sending a new one for delivery on the 30th. Then yesterday the first one miraculously showed up, which makes me think it was the delivery guy screwing something up. So now I guess I'll end up with 2? Kind of irritating as it would have been more useful last weekend. Damn thing is pretty small though, I'll probably see about installing it this weekend.

Anyways, I ended up with a new distraction this last weekend so I may not have actually gotten to it. Once I get this up and running, oh the Datsun parts I will make.

I'm still not clear on what difference there is between that and a 510 KA swaybar.
According to them, width. The ears are a bit futher apart on the 510 bar. But there's no reason you couldn't drill a new hole in the LCA and move the end links out at least 1" per side.

If I can remember, I'll try to fit my A10 sway bar up to my 1200 and see how it goes.
B210 swaybar fits the 1200 (and vice/versa) with only minor mods, and I thought the B210 swaybar/front end bits are essentially the same as a 510 swaybar in the mounting, so shouldn't the 510 KA swaybar fit, and be easier to get in the US?
B210 is very similar to a 510, but not identical. On a B210 crossmember the LCA mounts are 1" closer together, and the LCAs are 1/2" longer per side (total width is the same). A B210 sway bar and a 510 sway bar are as best I can tell identical. So if you're saying a B210 bar fits a 1200, then there's your answer.

Honestly, I have no sway bar on my 1200. My springs are stiff enough that I doubt I'll need one...
Stuck in the 70s...

Folgertech, took a while to ship out but $300.

Was reasonably easy to assemble but definitely need an idea what you're doing, better than some of the other kits out though, also pretty damn cheap. I'm still figuring it out. The Fry's Electronics local to me sells all the filament at $25 a kilo, also several other models of printer but >500$.

Sold the wife on it pretty fast by printing out some stuff with her name on it.

Good thing. Would have been a shame to have to print a new wife.

That is a great price for that printer! The electronics, heated bed, and the print area make it awesome! I see they have a kossel as well... I want one of those! I may have to try for one of these again...

Been working on swapping out the radiator for the VW one. Test fit, but I still need to make up a top mount. Also routed some of the heater hoses and test fit the manifold. Wiring is probably next.
Image

Also designed a new 1200 radio delete plate.
Prototype for fit and finish.

Newly designed one, just needs paint.

Got the radiator mounted. Ended up ordering the stock top mounts online as they were only $6 and bending them to fit. The little metal pieces on top of the radiator are an additional set of rubber mounts to support the core. I'll probably end up putting a piece of aluminum to cover the top of the rad and the extra holes in the core support. Started a little bit on the wiring too, but no pics.

Next thing up was running the heater hose. Oh what complete pain in the ass. The clearance behind the head to firewall is only about an inch and I had to sneak the 5/8-3/4 hose in there with a brass right angle sitting at the firewall. Did pick up the nifty HF light to help. This took several tries and a bunch of broken crappy hose clamps before I got it to work. Not an awesome pic unfortunately.

Also this:

No paint, just involved hotswapping the different color filaments at the right time while the machine ran.

I have that same HF light. Its pretty awesome. I want to buy a second one and see about modding it to be brighter and or longer battery life.
