I bought another $250 worth of wood today. Enough to do 32 linear feet of fencing. Looks like the weather isn't going to hold up enough to get it done this weekend though.. so I might have to pickup on it again next weekend.

I'll be able to sneak in a repair of those 3 boards though. :aykm:

Didn't get to doing any more sections of the fence this weekend. Weather didn't allow it. I need two solid days of weather to get everything set and completed before the weekdays.

Other than this, I just cleaned up around the house.. mowed the lawn. Blew off the debris from the roof, gutters, and patio.

Got 4 more sections done last weekend. It was a bit too much. I literally spent all weekend on it. I was pouring concrete at 10pm on Saturday. I'll just do two sections till it's done.

Pics.. no finished pics yet. Ran out of light.

We don't get ones that destroy stuff very often, we hardly ever get big ones, and they don't usually stay on the ground long.
I was real close(100 yards Max) to the one that destroyed the Peter S Ogden school, Sunrise bowling alley, and killed all those people back in 1970ish, I got thrown on my ass at the same time the tree in the breeze way I was in busted, the bamboo was leaning over at about 45 degrees, and then the bamboo went flat, the tree above me cracked, and my feet were no longer on the ground, my ass was, I watched a cardboard box go around the gym twice in the sky, that should have been my first clue, but I just stared at it flying around the gym till it took me off my feet.
I will always remember that day, there were two bicycle racks in the parking lot, one had two bikes on it, the other had the rest, the one with all the bikes stayed where it was and all the bikes were broken/ruined, but the one with two bikes ended up a hundred yards out in the parking lot, both them bikes were fine, it didn't hurt them at all, the power pole with the transformer for the school got all wrapped up with the power lines like a fishing reel, and then sat down on it's side, the church across the street lost most it's roofing, the golf ball driving range behind the school was destroyed, then it lifted off the ground for over a mile, then it came back down and started destroying things and killing people, lucky that all the kids were in the gym at Peter S Ogden, it destroyed the school, but left the gym standing, people died in the bowling alley though. :(

We don't have them at all really. Maybe once every 5 years or so. The weather wasn't even bad around here yesterday. It was so random..

We don't have the climate and we are surrounded by mountain ranges. sometimes things get weird.

It's happening more and more though, when I was a kid, big events were few and far between, now it seems like we have at least one tornado every year in Washington or Oregon, they might not be as bad as Aumsville every year, but they do some damage.
It's been 22 years since I felt an earthquake where I live, I have felt 3 or 4 of them in my life, this is the longest its been since I felt one.
I was a kid when the Columbus Day Storm hit Portland/Vancouver, I have never seen so many downed trees in any storm since that day, nothing has even come close to that 1962 storm in this area, the eye went right over us in Vancouver, it was blowing like stink from the south, it became a nice sunny day for about 5 minutes, then it started blowing from the north, and the trees started falling at the school across the street, if there were 100 trees in that lot before the storm, there were only 25 left after the storm, the huge walnut tree in my back yard was also uprooted.
Now that I think about it, the early 60s had a few big events, the Columbus Day Storm, and the Alaskan Earthquake 2 years later, I am very happy I was not in Alaska, it was plenty scary here.

Believe it or not I've actually felt 2 earthquakes down here. And only since I've been an adult. The first was a little one (or so I'm told by a coworker that grew up in California) at like 2.0 or something but it woke me up as I slept. The second one wasn't even that big.

Tornadoes are a different story. It's not unusual to have 1-10 a year. I have heard about them driving pine needles into the side of houses but I've never seen it myself. My Father-in-law told me about one that took 6" of topsoil off the ground in the town north of my house many years ago.

When we had that big tornado outbreak back in 2011 (April 27th) me and my wife went and helped with the cleanup in Tuscaloosa. That damage was indescribable. To see uprooted pine trees wrapped around telephone poles is crazy. 260 some odd people died that day in Alabama alone. The Weather Channel classified that outbreak as the 3rd or 4th worst outbreak in history.

Got another 16 feet of fence done this weekend. I'm digging right up next to a tree line.. Like 3-4 away from the base of mature trees. Lets just say digging two holes feels like 10 by the time your done.

No pictures unfortunately. I was in a hurry to move on to the next project. (510)
