I only cut half a coil. I'll drive it with this height and see how it is. It could definitely be lower.. but I'll give it time to settle and see where I'm at. I think I lowered it about 1.5" in the rear. Right now I could easily over extend the shock if I hit the right dip in the road. Lots of upward travel, but only about 1" downward travel before it's at the max. Not sure if that's really an issue.

I moved past that on to the BMC. I installed it yesterday and filled it with fluid... immediately it starts to leak near the lines. I pull it back off.. and quit for the night.
Start again today. Keep in mind this is a rebuilt BMC.
I find the nipples on the that connect to the flared brake lines are hammered. It appears in a previous life someone strong armed it and marred them. I could have sent it back.. But the next one could be the same way. The next one I buy will likely be new. Anyway this is what I did to fix it.
Take off the nut:
This has been on the car for just over a year... has less than 20 miles on it. But just ordered another one. Centric 7/8 BMC. Poor planning on my part I guess.

It looks decent at that height man. Better than stock.

I'm running 15's so it's not super low. Gotta drop the front now.. once I do that I might adjust the rear a bit more.

In the process of swapping in 280zx front struts. Replaced the lower control arms, ball joints, steering knuckle with 70-73 style. Also installed new tie rods.
Had all this stuff powder coated 3 years ago... this is the 3rd 510 it's been on.. and still 0 miles on it. lol.. That will change soon!

I also bought new moog stabilizer link bushings, but I'm not sure they will work. If time permits I might try to fit them.. or modify them a bit to work.

They have poly bushings. I'm not sure how they will work. I might need to grind them down a bit to mount to the bar. As they sit, it looks like it will have too much play and the bar will flop around between the bushings.510freak » Mon May 18, 2015 11:05 am wrote:Hmm never seen those, they look cool

Re: The forgotten Beige 69 510 build - NWD edition
I installed one of the moog sway bar links. I think it'll work just fine, but they do look a little funky.
I also got both of the 280zx struts installed and the wheels rub the strut.. not surprising. I've got spacers.. but with the spacers I need longer wheel studs. I have those.. but I'll probably have to widen the holes a bit on the hubs to get them to fit. I'm going to take Friday off and hit it hard.. gotta get this thing back on the road so I can move on to the rest of the car.
