I have another in similar shape. I will gladly donate it to the Canby truck!

Already a done deal.

Re: Redemption? flatcat's 521
First Canby; came home with a score...
First, a deal was struck before I got there involving DRIVEN, Jayden, and myself.
Driven got my 521 hubcaps.
I got a 521 bumper from Jayden
And lets just say Jayden got a used Fleshlight from DRIVEN. I don't know what they agreed on, but my thought works. We'll go with it.
(Sorry for no pic. It's a bumper. It's in awesome shape and I'm super excited.)
The first person I talked to when I arrived at Canby turned out to be DatzenMike. I knew who he was, he did not know me by sight.
After introductions and banter, also getting to talk to Jassifrass at the same time, Mike handed me this...
He said it was the nicest of the few he brought with him. Dickhead said he wouldn't accept payment either.
Got these from jrock courtesy of guberkevin.
I don't know what Kevin did to get these for me but I'm not complaining.
Freshly coated K5s, gratis? Winning!
RatDat helped me complete the 620 collection by sourcing the yellow.
Redeye helped add some flair by giving up a monster!
And then along came Jacob...
I've been bugging him for his dogleg transmission for quite a while.
Z series 63A. Super stoked! Been wanting this since I found my first dogleg to be junk.
That's not all though. Jacob came through, big time.
Converted's old 38mm flat tops.
Tiny little box of awesome.
Clean W53 and all its guts. Stock L20B cam and a regrind cam. Jacob I will ask cam specs later.
Work will be coming soon. Still basking in the greatness of my first Canby.

Someone put bigger valves in that W53, that is a score in it's self.

Re: Redemption? flatcat's 521
I don't know anymore, all I know is that I have bigger valves installed in them, I just looked up the info and it says that the intakes are 1.65 and the exhaust is 1.38 same as the A87.
It's been so long since I have had any head work done I am forgetting.
Here is a photo of my super head, I have not installed it on anything yet, it is a W53 head.

Re: Redemption? flatcat's 521
Those actually look really close to mine.
Not a lot of room to go much bigger.
I'm going to put a straight edge on both of the W53s I have and go from there.
The straighter of the 2 will get the comp valves and retainers and some port matching.
While you are here, Wayne, what's the word on a trans mount for me?

Re: Redemption? flatcat's 521
Do you know the specs on the regrind cam? Is it going to need lash pads?
My W53 is straight. As far as I know. Just really dirty.

Re: Redemption? flatcat's 521
Its the one I made a thread about on lash pads...
I may still have the specs I found, I think it was about a 475-480 lift if I remember...
Yes lash pads, no the purple retainers are wrong, but I was planning on shortening them...

I thought that Kevin had you covered, I thought he said he found the lost one.flatcat19 wrote:Those actually look really close to mine.

It looks like I have two of them made out in the garage right now.

Retainers need to be shortened?
Kevin did find the lost mount-donated it to the Canby truck.

Re: Redemption? flatcat's 521
Those are the nismo comp large lash pad retainers. Hence being purple, I think the ones you want are orange, but are NLA. They are just aluminum so easy enough to modify.

Now I'm really confused.
I'll see what I can figure out.
Also need to hunt down your lash pad thread.

Re: Redemption? flatcat's 521
Weather is starting to cool down. Driveway is clear.
Time to start getting stuff done!
Not tons of progress, but it puts a huge smile on my face seeing it...
That picture does nothing for how good it looks with the K5s on there.
Tires were accidental delivery to my work. No record of us ever receiving them. Nexan 641. 195/65R15. New. Free.
Wheels are the one Jrock PC'd for me through a deal uberkevin made.
Fitment is spot on. May want to do a light roll to the fenders though-just for a touch of safety.
Next on the agenda...
(1) Mount the bumper Jayden gave me, on a deal through DRIVEN.
(2) Install engine harness denmarkboy sent.
(3) Clear the debris out of the bed.
