I don't know, dude. I think I like the original skinnys. Looks almost military. They'd look good in a battleship gray.

Am certainly a fan if the skinny ones also. Tires are no good tho and I want something more like what I have. I chose these because they were local and cheap. I will keep the stock rims tho just in case. I really like the military look too. But I just don't see this one going in that direction. (When I see military tires and such on this I think of a restored military truck or jeep). The vision I have for this one isn't that. I want some beastly driver.
I know you have a thing for stock tires lol. I remember when I threw the other wheels on the 720 you had said something. I do like the stock skinny look just not on this one.
Who knows. If I get another one down the road I will probably give a shot at doing something like that. I will say the skinny tires are a lot easier to turn.

I hear what you're saying. Just blurted out my unsolicited opinion. I do that sometimes.
Big tires are cool but it seems like a lot of work to hunt down specific springs just to make them fit. Guess that's part of the fun though.

Haha, I like peoples opinions. I don't have to find springs to make these fit, just if I want to fit anything bigger. That's all. I could have waited and found different wheels, too. Idk. Just gonna roll with this for now. Keeping the stockers in case I want to go back, tho. I may not even find other springs. I think it's ok as is. Tho lifted trucks are fun.
IDK if I want to polish these anymore. lol. Lot of work

Damn son. That's so much better. I had some wheels that were the same aluminum alloy whatever that those are. They were horribly oxidized. I got some kind of acid from a coworker and sprayed them down and rinsed it off. They came out decent but nowhere near that nice.

I haven't located it, but I've been looking for the stuff truckers use on aluminum to keep it from oxidizing. On my vintage Kawasaki triple I've polished a lot of the aluminum, and I want to seal it so I'm not doing that again anytime soon. I don't know what the truckers are using, but they seem to have it down. Have you looked into any type of sealer for those wheels?

napa brand aluminum brightener is a good acid. It removes all oxide, and everything else. Leaves just a clean rim behind. Same deal, spray on, wash off. you can scrub it for that brake dust that just won't come off. It's the best stuff I've ever used for cleaning aluminum. Also Eagle makes a brand of aluminum cleaner, not as good, tho.

Last time I ran the ford, gas was dumping out the carb all over. So last night I pulled the top off and cleaned the needle seat, then adjusted the float after testing it. Moved it ever so slightly down so it would shut it off a little sooner Rebuilding would be easy. I am afraid I will have problems after I rebuild it tho. just one of those things you don't know, till you do it. So for now, I just cleaned out the carb. I ran it for a little bit today and no gas poured out. Still needs tuned. Backfires a little. Not sure if it's the carb or dizzy or both or what. Will get to that another time, short on monies right now.

Hmmm didn't think of that! I really need to get a rebuild kit so I can tear it down all the way. Just hate doing it, if it's not that. Guess it's worth a gamble being the rebuild kit is cheap enough. If it doesn't work, then I can just swoop on another carb somewhere.

I was lacking motivation on my build... then I started browsing my own build thread from the beginning.. That helped motivate me.
It's easy to get discouraged by the tedious work.. or the hours and hours it will take to make something small look good. But when you look back on it, you forget about the time spent and you can just admire hard work paying off.
