This shot is off the web (this is not of my wagon) - I want the missing DATSUN emblem for the rear hatch ...
... the one that goes above the 510 - you can see what's left of the three emblem posts in this shot.
Q - Are the wagon DATSUN emblems the same as the sedan trunk emblems, or am I looking for a "wagon only" part?
WTB: 510 emblem - I also have a question

I believe they are the same. They also are the same one on the front fender.

Re: WTB: 510 emblem - I also have a question
Thanks.
I have seen a DATSUN emblem for a 510 trunk lid offered, but not one for a wagon hatch.
I don't want to buy one, only find out the posts are in a different location or it's a different size ... that would suck.

Re: WTB: 510 emblem - I also have a question
took my 68 DATSUN hatch emblem and test fitted it to a 72 wagon hatch and front fender holes. Pins lined up perfect.
Only real differences is the early 510's were metal then they were changed to a plastic emblem.
the DATSUN emblem on a 68 510 2/4 door is in the center of the trunk rear panel and is a larger DATSUN emblem. Not the same as a hatch and front fender emblem. Just in case someone wanted to know.

Finally all is right in the world
I got my hands on a DATSUN emblem. It has about the same amount of "wear and tear" (aka: patina) as the others, making it a great match.
