I wish all the pics in that thread did not get deleted.

Re: Redemption? flatcat's 521
Looked at the data sheets. I would have picked the LM7809ACT because it keeps a tighter voltage range on the output, but its only good down to 0C (32F). So its the LM7809CT because its good down to -40C (also -40F). This is in fact the one he referenced in the first picture. So this one: http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Fai ... L8812Nc%3d
Here is a fellow members thread that you even posted in that is quite relevent. http://nwdatsuns.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=517
Here is a picture:
If you hold your regulator like it is in the photo. The left most pin is your input (12v/battery), middle pin as well as screw hole are ground, and the right pin is the output (9v) to the gauges.

Hey guys. It's gato. Still locked out of my account.
Good info, Jacob. I'll dig deeper as soon as I get caught up in the forums. Been a week or so of not being able to log in.

Re: Redemption? flatcat's 521
Couple of things to go over.
Leaving this thread here for future reference. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/41740 ... -question/
Going ahead with my swap soon. This is the closest bit of info regarding my concern.
Swapping from L16/4speed to L18/63A.
My issue, which clutch release bearing to use.
Can I find one that is bearing and collar that will work?
I'm at work so I haven't had tons of time to dive in. Really just wanted to paste the link before I lost it.
From all the reading I have been doing I'm still without a solid answer. Jacob's in that thread is the closest I have found.
2nd...we've been talking about my overheating at length before.
New pump. New thermostat w/hole. Freshly cleaned radiator. New upper hose. Blah, blah, blah.
Found when gauge was I'm overheating real temp at thermostat housing is in the 175-190° range. Never actually overheating.
With it not actually overheating I have just been driving the thing.
Well, I normally always drive with my headlights on. On a cruise with a friend a few weeks ago, I noticed my temp was normal. What was different? My lights were off.
Been testing this back and forth for a couple weeks. Real consistent. Lights off, normal. Lights on, no bueno.

Re: Redemption? flatcat's 521
As far as I know, if the 63A(dogleg) came from a car like the 200SX with a 200mm clutch cover/disc, then that collar/throw out bearing should work with your L18 200mm clutch cover/disc, they both are 200mm.

Re: Redemption? flatcat's 521
My shopping cart has the collar from a 79 510(A10) in it.
I really just wanted to pass that by guys who have been there.
And since Jacob ran the same exact setup before...ya know?
Will also be using the Wayno mount Kevin gave me to do my install.

Re: Redemption? flatcat's 521
Tranmission doesnt matter.
You run the collar and bearing to match the Clutch set.
So if you currently run a 521 clutch and the clutch collar and blah blah and it works, No need to order anything. Your clutch and collar just swaps. Unless you are buying a new clutch.
So 521 flywheel, clutch disc, pressure plate, pilot bearing, throwout collar, and bearing. Finally whatever transmission you decide.

Re: Redemption? flatcat's 521
I have a new pressure plate and disc I was given, Exedy.
No collar though. And I think the collar is bad.
I developed a weird tinging sound in gear yesterday.
I'd feel safer knowing I have one in hand.

Re: Redemption? flatcat's 521
Collars don't go bad, throw out bearings go bad.
The tinging sounds like a bearing, if it goes away when you put it in gear while not moving with the clutch pushed in, then I would think transmission bearing as in gear the bearings in the transmission quit turning, but if in neutral with the clutch pedal not pushed in while idling they are turning, they tend to make noise when bad/going bad.
If it squeals and/or vibrates when you push on the clutch pedal, that would mean throw out bearing to me.

It tings when I'm taking off slowly.
I can hear it in second and third.
I found a few on eBay. RockAuto is telling no stock available on those parts.

Does the ting keep speeding up the faster you go, if it does I would look at the driveline U-joints or rearend.
I would also look at the carrier bearing and rubber piece.
