Took the truck on the maiden voyage today. Did good. I am in desperate need of different rims and tires. Truck did good!

Did my first job with it today. Hence the stuff in the back of the truck. Lady wanted her yard mowed/weed whacked. 3 neighbors came out of their house and over to me and thanked me for doing it. I guess she has let it go for quite some time and they weren't liking it lol.

Good job, are you going to be going there again to maintain it?

You mentioned that you were going to dispose of the grass clippings/debris on your property, do not get in a habit of doing that unless you have a canyon to fill, find a yard debris recycling place and find out how much they charge per yard and charge for that, plus your time to unload it, I take mine to McFarlane's Garden Center and pay about $6.00 a yard with my senior discount, if I had been dumping it on my property, my house would be completely buried by now.
My trailer has the name of my company on the side of it with big letters/numbers so all can see who I am and what my number is, I also have cards and flyers, I even had a sandwich board sign I used to carry around with me that I stood up in the front yard by the road so folks could see who I was while driving by, you need to make sure everyone can figure out who you are, I have folks taking a photo of the side of my trailer all the time.
I used to pass out flyers to all the houses near the job I did that day, it only took 10 minutes so it wasn't a big deal, but once I was booked out more than a month ahead, I quit passing out flyers as new customers don't like waiting that long, my regular customers have gotten used to it and call me way ahead of time to get their day scheduled.
My sandwich board sign which I have not used in years, it's falling apart.

My trailer sign which came off my original work truck.

Here is my original work truck setup(Datsun work truck), with the sandwich board on the trailer where I kept it.

Thanks for the tips Wayno! I am planning on getting some signs made up for the truck. My old work had door magnets made. I thought about that, but they are expensive and not in the budget right now. I will def get some signage made up for my truck, and trailer once I get it. I have a space to dispose of the yard clippings. I won't be doing it all the time. It will just depend on the job really. But I could dump thousands and thousands of truck fulls of yard clippings and not even make a noticeable dent. Seriously, even dumping thousands of dump truck loads wouldn't even fill it. Again, it won't be a constant thing tho. Just now and then depending on the job and what I have going on. I know the dump here will take yard waste here for free, or used to. I will be checking in on that. This was just my first job, so still lots of little things to learn. Figured out what my rates will be, depending on what I'm doing to make it worth my time. The biggest challenge in the beginning will be calculating the time to bid the job right. Plus all the small details like where to dump, this and that. Have a ways to go before I get setup correctly. I called and left a message with the city about getting a business license, should be hearing back on that tomorrow. Going to go with a LLC. Insurance will be about a thousand bucks a year give or take. That will have to wait till I get a little cash in my pocket. For now I really will be careful and make sure I choose the right jobs. Filed my taxes but they are taking forever.... Should be getting that back anytime soon. Will be using part of that to pay for the insurance. Also going to buy a small trailer with it.

As far as going back.. Her husband left her (so she said when we first started talking). Then it seems tho as she made him leave and is getting a restraining order. IDK what is going on really, and don't care. She said if he comes back tho he will be taking care of the yard. If not she wants me to come back and do regular work. I asked her if she just wanted to pay me monthly and I come over once a week or every week and a half and check on it/ mow it, or just call me when it needs done. She said probably just when it needs done. Told her either way works, but it will be cheaper if I maintain it regularly. It won't take me as long to mow/trim it when its as is.... But if she waits for it to get bad like it did, then I would have to charge more as it will take longer, more work. So we shall see. She loves the work I did. 3 of her neighbors came out and said thank you. Everyone is pleased. She said she will spread the word to her friends, and clients at her work. So hopefully that helps. Also she said to get a facebook page for my business and she will write a stellar review. So will be working on that soon.

That looks much better. The others just looked wonky for some reason. Maybe it was the short tires.

Well, I did raise the front of the truck a little bit after the picture of the titans, then put the other rims on.. Wasn't so bad lifted a little bit.. I think it was at 24 inches from the ground (from the ground to the top of the round in the wheel opening. When I raised it, I set it at 26 inches both sides. It was not level before. Now it's level, looks good with these wheels/tires. Nice offset... Almost looks like an old school low rider similar to daytons. I don't like spokes tho lol

Those clear lights... The only cars around here with clear lights like that are owned by Hispanics... You should smoke them.

No, just go all-in with a hard tonneau cover that has a 3 tiered wing screwed to the back. And exterior LEDs, lots of exterior LEDs. The more colors the better.

Hahahaa.... It's a hit and miss around here... The clear tails for the 720s were very hard to find for a long time... They are here and there for the 84 style bed... Can't find them for the later ones or earlier... I like them. Something different. Took a bit of work to get them to fit in there also. Repops never fit right.

A tonneau cover would be sweet! A fiberglass one. No on the LED's lol... Unless I did LED's under the cover to light it up when I lifted the door... I think the truck looks good as is. Shrug

I'd love to have another 720 just for play.... I want to cut the buttom out below the window, and connect it to the bed (cut the headboard out of the bed too), and either weld it together, or use some kind of seal to keep the water/air out... Then fill the bed with speakers/lights... Have a tonneau cover (fiberglass one). Weld the tail gate shut and flush, roll pan... Make an old school 80s low rider with speakers out the ass!
