I always like installing hellwig products.other brand I'm not sure of.

^^^ Agreed ! Hellwig never seems to make crap.

This ^^^ is the road master active suspension kit I installed. I initially thought it was a fancy traction bar , but after the test drive realized it is indeed not.. The picture above is slightly different than my kit. My kit holds the rear shackle hook a bit more securely in place.]

Also installed my hell wig sway bar at the same time. Quality product hell wig is. You can see a piece of the road master.

Drove around with the road master before very shortly after installing the hell wig. HUGE DIFFERENCE... have nothing but good things to say. Eliminated the majority of that "whip" Tundr owners comment on (not a big deal at all). Flat take offs...smooth very precise shifting from the trans... sway/rolling and cornering greatly improved. Dollar for dollar the road master even though cost nearly $500 for the set was very well money spent. I'd buy another set for $600.... I installed the hell wig very shortly after and am quite please how flat it makes the truck do u-turns on a dime. Made a sharp u-turn to test it out and was impressed especially for how heavy the truck is/I'm making it... :lol: . I may adjust it to the next setting (2nd notch) at some point , but it does great right now. We shall see.

Already fully recommended to two other guys I know for their trucks

I don't feel the need to put a sequoia front sway bar on the front at the moment , but knowing me I probably will...

Because some things I like factory... Blew out a tire on my drivers rear....so I bought a set of 2016 Tundra Limited rims w/factory tires nitrogen and all. Guy I got them from immediately lifted his Tundra and put on new shoes...

Perfect, those rims look much better.

I have installed one of those Hellwig active suspension kits. Definitely noticed a change to the ride, felt a lot tighter.

Thanks guys , i like them (tasteful). Yeah Jacob those active suspension kits are kinda neat. Pricey obviously but made mine not do that annoying whip over small bumps and such (I don't carry weight in the bed except a 2nd spare tire now lol).

Time to talk about my transmissions shift points for a minute.
Keeping mind I have a column shifter with the sport mode switch on the handle itself (not a center console shifter style). I fit my girlfriend and niece in that 6th seat in the center so far ;) so yay for column shifters!
I'm not gonna bother to lookup or write down the actual names of the technologies since I really don't know what they're called other than my old Volvo had a similar system related to the transmissions brains. I live where there are some slight rolling hill areas coming in and out of my neighborhood. Mind you...you must brake carefully and completely stop before hitting the gas (at least my experience) or it'll start screwing with the trans brain. I hit the brake or gas to fast (or not completely stopped when starting) one morning about 2.5 weeks ago and altered the 1-2 shift for a bit.

At points it was altering higher gear shifts there after. I was a bit irritated with my newer altered "programmed" intelligent shift points and was about ready to take it in to see what could be done (flash/read/?/idk). Decided to stick it in sport mode and started driving it in sport mode exclusivelyfor the past week. Been pretty damn good ! Used sport for a while (left it in S5 or S4 since I didn't need those gears in town...) and has been as good as it probably can be !!! Last 2-days I decided to stick it back in "D" to see if it would have recorded/changed anything in "D" mode shift points and it certainly has back to where they should be !!! Very pleased. Probably will use sport-mode anyways interchangeably now as a habit. I just thought it was funny since it was a common complaint on earlier and some later 5.7's. I hadn't seen this as a suggested "fix" on the Internet at all.....even though it's probably there....(even though it's not a fix just dumb). Been decently careful all things considered....

Lol. My team leader actually showed me that trick on a shift issue on a Rav4.
She was threatening lemon law because her car had been in multiple times for the same issue. Lawsuit this; corporate that. Blah, blah, blah.


Customer was stupidly irate. My team leader wanted to have a little fun with the twat. Told me what to do and when to do it.

He wanted me to make the misshifts happen a lot to make the customer think they had us nailed.
Did what you just did by switching modes and drive vehicle for a little while longer.
Switched back to normal and shift points were restored. Customer was pissed. Customer just got handed their snooty ass back.

Pulled back in to the parking lot. Told her to have a wonderful day and went back to work.

My BMW changes shift points rapidly (and throttle position). I cant drive it in Drive mode its so messed up, launches hard from every stop. So I just drive in Sport. The harder I drive the longer it will stay in a gear. It also raises the RPM a bit just by being in Sport. If you floor it and then let off it will stay in the gear for a long while ready for you to hit the peddle again. I can reset it though. Car off, hold gas pedal all the way down, turn ignition on, keep holding for 60 seconds, turn off, release pedal.

But really, its the best Automatic I have ever driven. It just amplifies how I am driving good or bad.

So, a couple of months ago I decided to make an appointment for the dealer installed remote starter. After (2) dealerships basically raised their price... I gave up.

Went ahead and had a cheapy 1-way compustar installed on it.

^^^ Works just fine. I like having it ! Fire up my truck while getting ready for work. I can't remember but I think I can add the drone start system later on if I choose to.

You could have asked a Toyota technician to get you their discount on the kit.


I would have gotten you full set of instructions and hooked you up with a local tech to do the scan tool side of things.
Real install time of OE kit is about 30-40 minutes.

Opps. Damn it. Gonna blame that one on long work hours.

Interestingly enough , the factory fob's also start/stop the truck now. Not the exact sequence of smashing buttons as toyota's. Uses the same start sequence as it does for stop,.

11,400 miles should be "enough" to break in the rear diff. Dropped the fluid to look at the drain plug (waaaay overkill I know) , and pumped her full of Mobil 1 75w-90 LS Full syn (don't need the lsd additive since my lsd is not a true one). Very happy with the results. Drives quite different now. Even Smoother , consistent shifting , and seems to feel like it will coast forever when I let off the pedal. No joke...going faster/smoother up hills (neighborhood access) than before with same throttle pressure. Same result on the highway. $35.00. Full synthetic fan for life on this truck. Transfer case and front diff will receive the same at some point.

I've only ran convential gear oil on my stuff in the past , so it's new to me !

Also....my Makita 1/2" BL Impact wrench is just truly bad ass. I just love it. Says something that it'll zip off Isuzu NPR Diesel lug nuts....as well..... :thumbs:
