Re: Converted is back 74 b210
I hope so, not sure where I'm going to mount it now tho.
In other news I freshened up my gauges and painted the needles on the gauges and new clock to match my other gauges. Then I swapped a few things from the old dash to the new one and slapped it in. I didn't have time to clean it yet but I'm really happy with how it all turned out. I'm really happy to have the trim that goes behind the knobs for my radio too. Also mounted up a stock side mirror for now that also came off the picknpull car.
Then this morning I snagged a full set of brown seats for a steak. I plan to use the rear and trade the fronts. I was able to get the bottom in place, but the top needs more tinkering. These are 2 door seats from a 78 so the top frame is different. I plan on stretching the brown top over the old frame. It won't be perfect, but with a little work it'll look great. Then tomorrow I'm off to blue lake

Re: Converted is back 74 b210
So I have been researching valve train parts to got with my cam upgrade and decided on a set of springs. They're made by kelford cams in newzeland. Single engineered valve springs with an installed seat pressure of 75 and an open pressure with my 1.44 rockers at 150 or 195 for 1.55 rockers. Next up will be lightened pushrods, which may end up being from tomei for 13 each. Damn this stuff adds up haha

Re: Converted is back 74 b210
Oh forgot to mention, the springs are good for up to 9k with the right cam and other valve train parts. So they should be perfect since I don't want to go over 8k

Re: Converted is back 74 b210
I snagged this on eBay for a possible dcoe 45 in the future if I want more power. Or I may do another build with a throttle body on a future project car.

Re: Converted is back 74 b210
I spen the weekend at eagle Adams with a help from eagle and Nismo dr I got my sus installed and tuned. I have to say oh my god I never thought it would be this big of a difference. This thing is a rocket! I can smoke my tires on dry pavement. Also a big thanks to wayno for digging these out for me, they are absolutely beautiful.

Downdrafts suck, but SUs suck the air/fuel in better.

Yep, I chose right for sure. I did most of the wrenching, but advice, tune and extra hands made all the difference.
That’s completely true! But these were a much bigger improvement than I’ve ever had from sus. Complete night and day

Re: Converted is back 74 b210
Maybe you have never had a good serviceable set of SUs before, I am happy I was right that they were good, I suspected they were off one of those 30,000 mile Japanese import engines and they just pulled them off and set them aside in favor of the down draft they had on their engine they were replacing.

Re: Converted is back 74 b210
I've had a couple nice sets, but likely more miles than these ones. But I think part of it may be my Webber jetting, it may have been running too rich and holding me back. But I never thought an a series could feel like such a monster with I agree with you, especially with they way they cleaned up. The parts are all really new looking after a good clean. I was going to do the rest of the motor work next, but now I'm thinking suspension, bigger breaks, and body and paint. I could possibly even build an a15 and drop it in later. Those sus have me satisfied power wise for the moment. Actually a little cautious, I can drift and smoke my tires now. I really need this thing to stop and handle better before I add more power.

Always a solid plan to focus on braking and handling.
I'm not sure you'd notice a huge difference going to an A15, but by all means snag one if it comes along.

Re: Converted is back 74 b210
I have tie rods, center link and ball joints already sitting at home. Hopefully gonna start sourcing parts for the front coil overs soon.
Yea, maybe not. But even a fresh a14 with pistons white less dish would be good. At this point I don’t have a garage, so I may still just do the head, cam, springs and pushrods on this motor.

Re: Converted is back 74 b210
So the roadster dual choke cable I bought was bad.... but I was able to rebuild it. I picked up solid wire to replace the braided cable and graphite lube. Got it all together and it’s perfect. Gotta love it when a fix goes right

I would have put it under the dash just below the green wiper knob, but to each their own, most would not even know what that knob did mounted there, good anti-theft devise.

Re: Converted is back 74 b210
I’ve thought about moving it, but we’ll see how it all all ends up.
Today I replaced my wing window seals with door seals from a 97-12 f150. I found the info on the 1200 wiki and I’d say it’s a decent replacement. Then I put some around my my trunk for a better seal. Not right for the trunk but probably better than the crispy one it replaced.
