Haha I think this is pre Izzo. It’s just one in a series of hack jobs to the wires. But thanks to eagle I now have a 74 factory service manual with a nice diagram. Time to photo copy and trace wires with markers lol

Yeah, thats the prices of Datsun admission. Years of unfucking years of fuckery by previous customizers.

Yep haha I’ve fixed a ton of po “fixes” already. Going to trace the wires, but I did find an engine harness. Just waiting to hear back on it’s condition.

Re: Converted is back 74 b210
Hahahah Driven
That was most def not me man. I don't fuck around with wiring. The most I did really was add a ground wire to the dizzy, as it was running "odd" and seemed to clear up after that.
The wiring was fuckery, but honestly I didn't know they got into the wiring harness (tho i am not surprised).
They had gone as far to, cut the headlight plug right at the switch and wire in a new one, leaving the stock plug in place so a stock headlight unit could be installed

Hackers. Probably been worked on by a couple dozen different guys in the last 44 years.

Re: Converted is back 74 b210
Haha well I was lucky enough to find a new engine harness from mike. It’s getting gone through, tested, cleaned up, and re wrapped.
Onto progress! I had a little time tonight and changed out a few parts I’ve been meaning to install. I got moog Polly sway bar links and prothane poly swaw bar mounts put on. Then in the rear I installed new kyb shocks. The shocks will be replaced again later if I lower it the way I plan to.
I’ll see if I notice any improvement on my drive to work tomorrow.

Surprisingly it’s a nice improvement, no more bouncing down the road lol
I can’t wait to swap the front suspension now lol

Re: Converted is back 74 b210
The front will likely be an even bigger improvement.
This little car is really coming together.

It’s already so much better, it’s not even the same car. The 280zx front is going to be amazing too I agree

Re: Converted is back 74 b210
The rear end in my wagon got softer with the new KYBs. Didnt like them too much. The front was however stiff I wanted. You will like that.

Re: Converted is back 74 b210
Hmm, maybe the B is lighter in the rear? I’ll be looking for a shock replacement after it’s lowered... hopefully I can find some adjustable ones.
Yea the front is going to be absolutely perfect, especially those adjustable inserts. With all the work going into this I’m not sure I know how much of a monster I’m creating. I now understand “because race car” hahahaha

Pretty amazing how peppy 80hp feels when it's in a light car that handles well.

Re: Converted is back 74 b210
I have the tension control rod bushings, just need to put them on. Actually have the entire custom front suspension, but my coilover sleeves were a bit smaller than advertised so I need to fix the before they can go on

Re: Converted is back 74 b210
Tonight I decided to wrap up a couple wires that could be better, well more change than fix. First I made an adapter from my harness to the maxima alt. Then I soldered longer wires onto my headlight switch so I could finally mount it in the dash. Then I preceded to lock my keys in the car... which also means I locked myself out of my apt where my spare key was... and it was 3am. Luckily my d21 was parked near by with a bed full of shit. Ended up stealing the hard break line off a Toyota axle I had in the bed and used it to fish the door. My night has been interesting lol

Re: Converted is back 74 b210
So I may have bought some things.... more things than I care to post. So I’ll post as it all goes on my car haha
First up is a Japanese market rear bumper! There was bad rust pitting from the back side, so I cleaned it up and put a nice coat of por15 to seal it. Seems like it’s starting to come through to the front in a couple spots, hopefully after converter and keeping it clean and polished it shouldn’t be a problem. For the front it looks like I have to do a little cutting on the stock us mounts, maybe even remove the spot welded mounts. Probably going to ask another member before I let the sparks fly
