I’m interested to see those camber plates when they’re done. Nice choice on the b210 booster too, it looks smaller under your hood than on my b210.

Just finished gutting my old door. Definitely still some good parts here.

Not sure if I ever showed exactly why I needed a new door. Lower hinge mound was rusted out and not even fully connected to the door.

I'm working evenings now, so if you wanted to swing by my work sometime that would probably be easiest.

As ugly as it may be, it still got new weather stripping and its installed now. No more door flying open unexpectedly :)

The lower hinge is totally sloppy, but that can be fixed later.

Wire wheeled a bit of rot on the inner trunk frame, not too bad. Also sanded a few spots of surface rust. Any bare metal got some clear coat and I bolted it on. Still have to enlarge one lock cylinder slot and add another completely, then my Solex cylinder can be fitted.

The fiberglass lid was okay, but I like the OG metal better.

I just saw Danfiveten's pictures of his plastidipped 510. I have some faith in the stuff. Lol

I kind of like the multicolored look. Had a couple 1200s like that.

The hood looks similar in color to the trunk lid too. It'll be a mashup for sure. Waiting to install the hood until I get the new latch system. I've got the pull cable though.

Inline check valve, check.

Vacuum port for manifold, check.

I was surprised to find both of those pieces in the mailbox today, they are both supposed to be here tomorrow. Sweet. I was planning to finish this up tomorrow when I refill the motor with coolant and start it up. Guess now all I've got to do is bleed the coolant and the brakes and go.

Didn't go so smooth today. One of the lines I had to massage to connect to the new BMC had a break in it. I used Waynos method to get the stuck fitting off and it worked perfectly.

P.S.

Evercraft flaring tool=absolute garbage. Returned it and got a Napa Service Tools one. The quality is actually great, and seems to have plenty of life in it.

I considered that stuff, but knowing how clumsy I can be I'm afraid I would end up bending them in the engine bay.

How fun, my MAF might have got knocked around in the garage too much while it was off the car. Only getting intermittent continuity between pin 2 and 3. Car wants to die with it plugged in.

Pretty sure I know the answer, but is it worth it to mess around with anything other than OEM?

But so do harbor freight hand tools. Lol

Some might last, some might not.

After diagnosing it as truly bad, I decided to go with an OEM remanufactured unit from Cardone.

You know what would be good? A valve on the coolant bleeder hole, rather than the OEM bolt. Ordered one of those also. Will have to re-tap it for 1/8" NPT.

I had the pleasure of completely dismantling a BMC, just because I never have. I'm pretty sure everyone has heard of the residual valves that keep a small amount of pressure on the brakes. The one for the rear is supposed to be stiffer to account for the rear drums.

Anyway, mine has two identical springs for the residual valves. So were they swapped, or is this idea a myth?

Image

I got this a couple days ago. My plan is to also reduce the spring rate at all four corners with 150lb springs to replace my 200lb springs.

Got these too. Will probably wait to install after the rocker panels are fixed up. Currently trying to source the longest ones available.

Just hope they want to make these to match.
