Re: Converted is back 74 b210
Thanks guys! I'm glad i was lucky enough to get these bumpers for a steal.
Well today i had another improvement planned... but it wasn't going well. So I'll just return to that another day. So instead I installed the correct shackles in the rear. Ace was nice enough to give me shackles and leafs off his parts car. The leafs will be getting dealt with later, but for now shackles. I think they're a huge improvement! I'm doing most of my work out on the street so far... but I'll be headed to the farm soon for some stuff on my list.

Thanks guys. Hopefully I’ll have a couple more things finished this week too.
For now here’s a sneak peak of something I’ve done/ still working on

Re: Converted is back 74 b210
It’s not perfect, looks a bit better in pics. But I love the color so far.
Well I guess it’s time to reveal my next plan before canby.
I had to source a few more things, but now it’s all ready to go together. Literally going to be a full tear down and replace. Jacob has been helping me with advice and also helping me mod a few things before the install. I am beyond excited. Hopefully I can get it all done like I think, I don’t think I’ve overlooked anything.
Shiny new 280zx struts/ coilovers. These things turned out beautifuly
Flipped a leaf in the rear. Ace up in Washington gave me a spare set.
Also going to use these clamps meant for securing a trailer hitch as leaf spring clamps

There was a total transformation that happened yesterday. And now Josh needs to update. But let's just say the car is looking proper now.

Re: Converted is back 74 b210
Yep Jacob is right, and the transformation is awesome.
I went over to Jacobs garage yesterday and dove in head first. In the front I have 280zx struts with new breaks, and fairly new wheel bearings. My sleeves are from an eBay set... they were too small so Jacob helped me bore them out. Then the springs are from Viking, ultra light weight and high travel and lifetime warranty. Then billet tophats and 240sx camber plates to top it off. I decided not to put my true align knuckles on because they would cause too much camber, so instead Jacob let me use some rca’s he had laying around. Then in the rear I actually left the springs stock besides leaf spring clamps. The front is almost even with the arches all the rear looks lower as well. Another awesome benefit from the zx struts my wheels now sit perfectly tucked instead of having poke. I put it through some thrashing on the way home and the bounce is gone. It corners flat and hard but somehow still takes bumps comfortably. It doesn’t seem to rub unless I hit a really big bump at speed. All in all I am super happy, only a few little things are needed for it to be absolutely perfect. Sadly I didn’t take any pictures of the process, but I was trying to stay on track and finish in a timely manner lol. I do have after pics tho. Without help from Jacob and advice this would have taken me twice as long. So big thank you to him for the driveway space and time put in. Also the rest of you watching my build and helping my motivation. Anyway lol enjoy the pics!
Cranked all the way up lol
Rca’s
Leaf clamps
My low boat lol
Worth it

Re: Converted is back 74 b210
He forgot to mention, the struts are replacements I had bought for my car after the crash, they have Tokico Illuminas in them. He also put new balljoints and Tie Rod ends on.

Yep lol I got lost in explaining and forgot to mention a few things. I may need to add some security to the car after I put the interior back in... I’d steal it as it sits haha kidding

Looks way better! Are those shackles in the rear too wide on top? Looks like they're angled down to the spring? Oh wait, I see it changed in the other pics.

Went from some random 4x4 adjustable shackle, to OEM units. The B210 leafs are quite narrow, more narrow than my 510 leafs.HRH wrote:Looks way better! Are those shackles in the rear too wide on top? Looks like they're angled down to the spring? Oh wait, I see it changed in the other pics.

Re: Converted is back 74 b210
Well I guess the back is a little higher than I thought. After unloading the old parts, the rear is a bit higher. I may swap the leafs after all. We’ll see, I’m afraid they might be a bit too low. But they could also be perfect I guess.

Re: Converted is back 74 b210
Thanks guys! Hopefully you can all make it to canby this year.
Thought I’d throw up a couple pics to compare the setup that was in the car to the new stuff. The breaks are so much bigger than the stock ones lol
