74 260Z for sale
Hey all,
So I picked up this 260z car a bit ago from an old friend, couldn't pass it up. However, I have zero time for another project and it's just sitting under a car cover. Vehicle is complete, 4 speed, has flattop hitachis (yuck). It tried to fire throwing some gas in the intake. Car is decent, a bit rusty, but not really that bad for most z cars. Rockers are pretty decent, rear deck is the worst. Either way, suitable for restoring, or just V8ing and having fun.
$700 takes it. Clean title. I would trade for a set of Rota Shakotans in 4x114.3 15x7 +15 offset, other than that just need to get rid of it. Too many projects. Text at 2O8 660 832 one. Not on craigslist yet, I'd rather someone into Datsuns picks it up. I'd like it to go to a good home.
Also, I have checked underneath, don't see anything really bad, but I have NOT yanked up the carpet. It was stored inside for the last few years, stored outside under a tarp prior to that for many years. If it hadn't been outside under a tarp, it probably would have been near pristine other than the horrid large bumpers. Short of it is there could be more rust in the floor pans. Doesn't look like it when I crawled under it, but tiny pinholes are always a possibility, especially when the underlayment is about the same color.

Lol, I've seen way worse Datsuns. It's mostly surface rust besides that back deck. And even that you can get full replacement panels for it.

Re: 74 260Z for sale
Had one guy on Ratsun contact me, but he was in Florida. Bit too far to ship. I'm surprised there isn't more interest. Really it's very restorable or swap a V8 and have a hooligan-mobile to mob around in. I don't know. I suppose I may end up keeping it and doing that myself. That was the plan initially.

Re: 74 260Z for sale
I think you're fair on the price and seem to be honestly representing it. I really miss my 240 and this thing is really tempting but the timing is all wrong for me.
It'll sell. Doesn't cost you anything to be patient.

There have been a handful of cars and trucks you guys on here have unloaded that I've wanted to buy. But the damn shipping screws me out of it every time.
This Z is one that I would snatch up as it is a fair deal. But shipping would be close to 3 times the price of the car

With a different set of carbs it would probably make it back! What about renting a row dolly? Make a road trip out of it.Taterhead wrote:There have been a handful of cars and trucks you guys on here have unloaded that I've wanted to buy. But the damn shipping screws me out of it every time.

Re: 74 260Z for sale
Mentioned the Z in a facebook post, got a few "Don't suggest Roadkill ruins this rare car!" I replied, $700 and you can save it. Never heard back. Yup. I'm surprised no one has even attempted to look at it. The rust isn't any worse than a lot of Datsuns I've resurrected. Hell, the Maxima had worst rust and that was a racecar for 2 years before I cut it up. Still worth 700, and not even a desirable Z car.

Re: 74 260Z for sale
Early 74s are the rarest I argue. You get the series 2 shell of the 240z with a bigger 2.6L motor, and the thin bumpers. Sadly this is not an early 74.

Re: 74 260Z for sale
Yep, it has big bumpers. Still a rare vehicle, but not that exciting for the rareness. Still, you think it would be worth a set of wheels or something. It may just sit around until I find an engine to put in it. In fact, maybe I'll stick the old KAZ24 out of the hardbody in it just to piss people off.
