Aww yeah. Got a little too busy to keep updating the thread again.
Got a few things done recently:
- 5 Speed
- Exhaust
- Dropped the front more and traded wheels with the 210
I've still got a couple days to tidy shit up. Need to fill the front struts and find some bolts for my rca spacers. Almost canby time boys!
The tranny makes enough noise to give me anxiety though so I'm gonna be on the lookout for a better one soon. Still need a legitimate driveshaft too, but for now I just cut and welded the old one. It vibrates a little, but it's kind of like a massage chair if you sit there long enough.

Re: Still Pretty Original 510 Wagon
Damn that thing is looking good dude. I really wanted to get it, but just couldn't cough up the money at the time. Lucky guy! Really would love to have another 510. Not for the popularity of it, but I do love them. I've had 3 wagons, and one four door. The four door I never got to drive and had to sell it. IDK which one I want, but at this point they are all to fucking much. I could get one in the 3500 range if I ever got my taxes back.....
I thought about putting the butterscotch b210 up for trade. I wouldn't let it go for cheap, tho. Want a daily 510 thats safe, doesn't have to be fancy, just everything works and it runs lol.... Or a 1200 coupe. <--- mostly that
Where'd you get those wheels?

Re: Still Pretty Original 510 Wagon
... better late than never I guess. An explanation is overdue... No projects ever end.
Life updates: I moved to Oregon City and married the woman who kicked off the chain of events that led to me getting this car in the first place.
Car updates....
Kept driving the car, got rear ended, garaged the car:
I got rear ended a couple years ago which gave the hatch some new "body lines" but it's nothing awful, the bumper actually saved it from getting smashed. I got hit hard enough that the fan and radiator somehow made contact. So I pinched off all the busted fins on the side of the road, bought 5 gallons of water and limped back to Eugene, wipers on to keep the windshield clear of antifreeze. I kind of just put a band aid on it at that point and hid it from the world in my garage. I bought another car to daily so I could take my time keeping the wagon alive.
Wrapping up in Eugene:
- Water pump
- Wheel bearings
- Brakes
- a little paint to keep the rust at bay
- Installed a different passenger seat so I could spare my passenger the whiplash if I ever got rear ended again, can't remember why I never got around to the drivers seat..
Since I moved:
- IR alt swap that actually me trouble up until about 2 weeks ago
- Idler arm with the needle bearings
- Fresh T3 RCA's for the feels
- Redid the exhaust
- Aluminum Radiator
- Removed a few pounds of caked on grease from the engine bay and steering components
- Replaced the passenger side door handle
Right now:
- Replaced some scary dry-rotted fuel lines
- Put one of those cool clear glass fuel filters on
- Ordered a jet kit and new venturis for the carburetor. I want it to be dialed.
I've got some sweet 14's that take unilugs in storage that I would really love to use if I can find the right lugs. I fell into a pothole and thought I smashed my exhaust earlier so I think it's time to ditch the 13's.
All these photos are from Instagram and I hope the links work. They're in no particular order.
Then there's this. I have a lot of learning to do before I'll be comfortable replacing this myself but I'm getting there.
I think that covers everything...
