soon to be LZ2.3 521 :)
Re: soon to be LZ2.3 521 :)
WRONG AGAIN... still leaking oil with the 521 yoke in..
i mean it doesn't have a driveline attached to it.

That's the seal I picked up at napa.
It's gotta be the seal!
I've asked for a 83 720 seal and an 85 both didn't work.

Looking back to find the year of my trans it's a 85.
I looked up both part numbers. I should be fine.
That means it's the transmission doesn't it?
Hm.

Well there is definitely something spraying all over everything, and that is without a driveline connected, the seal isn't working, as that 521 yoke has a plug in the hole, correct?

Yep. There a plug in there forsure.
The seal is clearly not working I agree. But wtf! Haha

The transmission vent is clear, correct?, you didn't plug it for any reason, correct?

Re: soon to be LZ2.3 521 :)
Didn't plug anything so me not know what the vent is doesn't really matter.

On the shortshaft it is located on the pancake between the alloy front and rear cases.
It's just a tube bent 90 degrees.
If it's leaking on the 521 yoke also, try another seal with a different part number, I heard there were 2 or 3 different ones.

Above you can see the two I used. Two different seals, I'll get another new one and see if it's different as well.
If it's just the transmission then I really am fucked!
I guess I can drop It and change it out if I had another like it but it took me a while to even find that one. I guess I could get a Z car trans can't i?

Yeah that tube. I wondered what that was. No not plugged. Still bent in a 90 just like that.

When the seal is out, find a good light, and inspect that tailshaft, look for anything that looks like a crack, I hope for you it is just the seal being wrong.
