A14 SU Carbs.

Picked these up for the intake manifold, carb parts and linkage as they don't come up very often!

Heat shields are in good shape and not bent-up.

Yes it's missing some float bowl and choke parts, but I have a good set of carbs with electric chokes.

Want to put these on an A14 engine for another 1200 coupe as Smurf is more than likely become a full on autoX car by next spring and may not be streetable.

Think there is enough smog equipment on these??

These are a14t carbs (triangle inlet) and are super hard to find complete. The floats bowl top will probably work great from another set, but the needles and nozzles should be handled with extreme care. If for some reason you yave to remove the needles, id love to see what number they are.
A14t cabs are tuned for a stock a14 with an h72 head, and standard exaust.
Most of that emissions stuff can be deleted, with no ill effect.

The electric choke, and vacuum fast idle are weird. Im not familaur with those, maybe a latemodel set?

I have never seen them carbs before, I wonder if you can even find parts for them.

Yes, more photos. You can see there is a electric solenoid on the vacuum switch, which I think was connected to the broken white barb on the throttle diaphragm- so when the key was turned to the off position, the throttle plates closed all the way to prevent the engine from dieseling.

The rusty dash pots in the second photo I put in the first batch of pictures, was to keep the throttle plates from closing to quickly giving the engine time to burn the fuel and keep emissions down??

More pieces to the vacuum switch system?? Thoughts on all this smog stuff's operations??
I don't know if was even imported to the US? probably not. However Adam thank you for pointing out these are not your average SU's for an A14, I am thinking taking the set to Steve at Z Therapy and getting them to assess the avail-ably of parts and if they are rebuildable and of the number of $$'s involved Adam I will pass along what I find out about the needles.

I rarely admit to owning British cars, but bought these yesterday while attending the 30th annual British field (swap meet on Sunday)-meet held at PIR on the grass field, every Labor Day weekend.

Polished and rebuilt Hatashi SU 1.75 carbs for $150.00 They will fit on this manifold very nicely!

Aren't those a little big for an A? The factory only used them on the 2.0L and 2.4L.

Heard 510 guys say they work well on an L20b, but not anything smaller...
Stuck in the 70s...

I actually have one of the comp manifolds for them carbs, Redbanner seen it when I came to his house with it, it had Datsun 1600 Roadster carbs on it.
I seen the comp manifold for sale on ebay Australia recently, they wanted almost a thousand dollars for it, the seller was saying that you would not find another one in the world for sale.

Oddly enough, I ran into Steve of ZTherapy, at a Datsun Northwest meeting in downtown Portland and we were discussing this manifold and those carbs. He suggested boring out the manifold so the throttle plates would clear the mounting boss and run the carb/manifold combination on an A series engine, with a bit higher than stock camshaft and compression. He's done it and says it works very well. Would solve the space problem with side drafts and brake/clutch cylinders. He recommended using remote fill reservoir for brake master to have enough room to run larger air cleaner and reduce the air flow restriction. Not sure which air cleaner , perhaps a custom one of his design. I just happen to have such an engine, built by Dan Hall, that I think would except this set-up- should be good fun!
At same meeting found this lead, NOS H150 LSD!
