Pick and pull tires aren't worth it... Most shops won't even touch tires over 6 years old so you'll have to find a Mexican tire shop. I used a pick and pull tire once and after a couple months it literally blew up while I was driving

These are worth the risk for me. I will probably never find this size again, can really only find them new in other countries. My family knows a shop, known the guy forever he will put them on...

Need to get timing cover on, and tune the carbs, then it should be ready. Running really low on cash as well lol, Probably gonna have to wait till I get some more, so I can buy oil and stuff for when the swap happens...

Sorry guys. I went camping. Motor is in my garage.

Erm, carbs, they need to be tuned. IE, that weber of his is tuned for a 1.6L not a 2.1L motor, that will be an issue.

I am gonna sync and tune the SUs a tad rich on my car (1.9L) and then set the mixture on the LZ once its ready to go.

Shooting for less than 5 minutes from initial fire up to rolling down the street, gotta break in those rings!

lol I'm sure dereks Weber is tuned for a L20 unless you have messed with it.
Good idea to mount the carbs on your car since its not driving at the moment.

Got a nice surprise in the mail today, A out of state relative sent me a Fred Meyer gift card...I went shopping This really couldn't have came at a better time! Looks like I should have a LZ in soon

This stuff really adds up $70 later. Fred Meyer doesn't have a very big filter selection, So still need to get those. Not bad though, for the price

Fred Meyer has purolater filters. Those are good. Just get the PH8A or whatever it is for the fords.

So the head has been on for a little while, replaced the valve stem seals on that. We got the timing chain on today, but I don't have the cam gear bolt. So off to get that and a couple others tomorrow...

Hoping to have it in this weekend, But we'll see...

So today I decided to make some leaf spring clamps. After a lot of reading, people have been saying it helps tremoudously with wheel hop, axle wrap, ect...

Decided to try it myself.

Wow what a difference! first thing I noticed, I went into reverse and everything felt a lot more stable. Usually when I go down my driveway, I get a little diff slap from the angle of the driveway, now it doesn't do it at all. Then I take off from a stop sign and I am actually going fast, no lag on take off. Took it around some tight corners and it now has less body roll. Overall this amazing for the price of it, only cost me about $10!

If you have leaf springs try this out [:thumbup:] I placed the clamp right before the nub on the front portion of the leafs.

I would grab some Nylock nuts for those bolts. Might work loose even with lock washers.
Did you remove wheel when putting on?
